The Shack Xaló — Restaurant in Xaló

Went for lunch here with my wife and a friend who had been before. We sat outside, lovely shade and a breeze to offset the 30+ temperature. We settled on the 3 courses for €29. I had the carpaccio, the fillet steak, well done, which it was and the tiramisu. My only negative comment would be insufficient sauce with the steak. Our friend wanted their steak rare, which it was. Not always can you get both rare and well done cooked properly but they did. A few glasses of wine and the bill for three of us, including a tip came to €132, €44 a head. Well my family and I have just had our most enjoyable evening meal out this holiday (and we have had some really nice meals out). It was @ "The Shack Jalon" Starters, main meals, and desserts were all superb. All amazingly achieved by only 2 people, the owner / chef / pot washer and the lady out front doing everything else. We have been holidaying in Jalon for 12 years and spend our entire holiday in the valley as we do not hire a car so we eat out locally almost every night. We’ve had breakfast and lunch here and we all loved it! My vegan breakfast was delicious with scrambled tofu. For lunch they happily accommodated all our requests and dietary requirements, they veganized one of the salads for me (even though there were other vegan options!). The food was fresh and so tasty.
