Delight Restaurant Dambulla — Restaurant in Central Province

Terrible experience – would never recommend. We visited Delight restaurant with our family after a long trip, tired and starving. We ordered 3 fried rice dishes after seeing a full tub available on the menu. However, after placing the order, we were never given a bill. My father waited patiently, expecting at least an update — but instead, the staff started packing that same fried rice for someone else.

Shockingly, they gave away the entire tub and then told us it was for a previous order — even though the person who supposedly ordered it wasn’t even there. It honestly felt like a made-up excuse just to avoid serving us. No one informed us, no one apologized, and we were left waiting over 30 minutes for nothing.

In the end, we had to ask for our money back and leave without eating. My family didn’t cause a scene and chose to walk away respectfully, but we were deeply disappointed. This level of unprofessionalism and disregard for customers is unacceptable. If you care about being treated fairly and respectfully, I would strongly advise staying away...

Restaurant situated in the the heart of Dambulla Town on the A9 road. Very clean & hygiene. Toilets are well maintained & clean. Variety of foods available from short eats to set menus. Prices are very reasonable. This restaurant chain originating from Kandy is well known for its kawum & cookies. During Lunch time there is Rice & Curry as well as a Set menu,Lamprais, biriyani, nasigoreng rice and Fried Rice. Due to this restaurant being very busy at the Lunch time menus run out very quickly. And we observed that staff service is very poor in attentiveness and slow in processing.

All in all it is a nice place to dine-in...
