If you are looking for Halal, authentic Sri Lankan flavors, Curry Gedara Mirissa is a must-visit. This placed is owned by Mr. Ishia Enzo Izmia, who is also the chef alongside 3 more great chefs working in the kitchen to make all the delicious food.
The moment you step in, the cozy and warm ambiance sets the tone for a delightful meal. Their dishes are cooked with passion, and the flavors speak for themselves.
During our visit, we had:
Rice & Curry Buffet – A true Sri Lankan experience with rich, home-cooked flavors.
Mongolian Style Seafood Noodles – Perfectly stir-fried with fresh seafood and a wonderful smoky taste.
Seafood Thai Style Nasi Goreng – Fragrant, flavorful, and loaded with seafood goodness.
The staff were warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Every dish was served fresh, and the seafood quality was top-notch. Nasi Goreng is to die for.

Read moreCould not give higher praise to Curry Gedara Mirissa - we had the best meal of our trip so far in Sri Lanka here, as well as fantastic customer service including driving me to an ATM in their Tuk Tuk for free when I realised we didn’t have enough cash
A lot of the other fantastic reviews are for the buffet curry or the biryani, which we saw other people having and looked great - however we decided to have the Seafood Platter - after a few minutes the owner came out to let us know that unfortunately the fish he had left wasn’t up to standard and he wasn’t happy to serve it, and offered to find an alternative for us which ended up being larger quantities of everything else which we were very happy with - I thought the honesty and communication was fantastic.
The food itself was great, tuna steaks, prawns, calamari and garlic rice and easily enough for 2. All meals came with a free Buffalo Curd and Honey dessert as well as a free tea.
Probably not quite the cheapest eat in Mirissa - but definitely the best value for money and top quality service, really felt more like fine dining than any of the other places we’ve been but at a very reasonable price point.
We would eat here again if we had more...

We had a lovely experience at this cozy little gem of a restaurant. The place has a very cute and relaxing vibe, with pretty ambient lights, soft music, and even games to play—perfect for a laid-back evening. The small setup makes it feel personal and welcoming.
They offer both an à la carte menu and a vegetarian buffet featuring authentic Sri Lankan curries, which was absolute heaven for vegetarians. I went for the buttered prawn curry, which was delicious, while my wife enjoyed the veg buffet and loved every bite.
The food was fresh, flavorful, and truly captured the essence of Sri Lankan cuisine. Bottled water was served with the meal, and we were pleasantly surprised with complimentary dessert and tea at the end—both of which were delightful touches.
The staff were incredibly attentive and courteous, adding to the overall warm experience. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan flavors in a calm and...
