This restaurant was recommended to us and we really liked it. The staff are always very friendly and the food is constantly good. We went for breakfast and also for lunch a couple of times. The fresh fruit juices are very nice too! The prices are good considering how popular this place is. Obviously not as cheap as a little 'locals' place, but for a tourist restaurant it's very well priced. Good for families with kids too as there are lots of child friendly food options so they are bound to see something that they will want to eat. Everytime we went it was always busy, so they have built a good reputation. It's well deserved. You certainly won't be disappointed. The breakfasts were really good. We also enjoyed the avocado, tomato and cheese roti, the banana and honey roti is fantastic! The kotu here is also very good (not stodgy and heavy like many other places)! No wonder this place is so popular. Great tasting, freshly made food at a very reasonable price.

I had the pleasure of dining at this incredible Sri Lankan restaurant, and it was an experience to remember. Their roti, filled with a delightful mix of vegetables, tender chicken, egg, and cheese, was an absolute treat. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and the combination of ingredients was perfectly balanced, making it a must-try dish. Moreover, their traditional Sri Lankan rice and curry dish was a true highlight. The richness of the spices and the depth of the flavors were simply outstanding. Each component, from the fragrant rice to the hearty curries, came together in a symphony of taste that transported me straight to Sri Lanka. The ambiance of the restaurant complemented the food beautifully, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was impeccable, with staff who were both knowledgeable and passionate about their cuisine. If you're looking to embark on a culinary adventure, this Sri Lankan gem is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Delicious food in a very homey restaurant with a wholesome history. We ordered kotthu, the crab curry and paratha which I think was the daily special and then ended with a sweet coconut roti. The kotthu was very nice, nothing to complain about. The crab curry was amazing. Crab meat was incredibly sweet - and we got 4 crabs and 2 parathas from the one portion ! If we had known we wouldn’t have ordered the kotthu as it would have easily served 2 people. We were already full after the mains but wanted to try a sweet roti and the coconut did not disappoint. The roti was properly stuffed with shredded coconut and it was served with condensed milk on top. Food overall was 5 stars - our only negative was that the wait time was a little long (~20 mins for kotthu, ~45-60 mins for the crab curry). We were notified though that the curry would take some time as it’s cooked to order, though we still ended up waiting longer than he’d said.

No.1 Dewmini Roti Shop soon became our favourite spot during our 4 days in Mirissa. Not only the prices are very reasonable, the backyard setting is lovely and service is fast. They have a good selection of breakfast items and their egg hoppers and hoppers with honey are both delicious! Thru the rest of the day you can enjoy a variety of rotis, kottu or fried rice and noodles dishes. The rice and curry or devilled dishes will need to be booked in advance. I also took Gayani's cooking class and it was awesome. We made everything from scratch and there was no pre-prepared ingredients ... We did it all. In almost 4 hours our group of 5 learnt how to make 5 vegetable curries, the chicken curry and a scrumptious pineapple chutney. Gayani was a great teacher, fun and well organized. Showed us to grate fresh coconuts and how to make fresh coconut milk to use in our currys. A 5 stars activity!

Best Roti in Mirrisa! Great value for money, all food is freshly made to order. We went here multiple times during our stay in Mirrisa for a reason. We ordered the Chicken, vegetable and Cheese roti, which was packed full, however a little light on the cheese, but really tasty. The Kutto was also very nice, pretty much the same as a filled Roti but all chopped up. Also ordered the Deviled chicken one night, I asked for spicy and it was exactly that, but I liked it. Its kind of like a spicy sweet and sour chicken stir-fry. On our final night we finished our meal off with a Mango/Chocolate roti, which was the best thing we have eaten in a long time , Amazing! Staff here are always very friendly, lots of places to sit and the food comes out really fast for Sri Lankan standards. Would definitely come back next time in Mirrisa.

Recommendation!!! Best restaurant we had in whole Sri Lanka trip! We almost gave up hope to find good Sri Lanka food before finding this one - the rotti is prepared with really well chosen material, fresh and high quality. I took egg, prawn, tomato Rotti - was amazingly fresh and juicy (usually restaurants take salty prawn coz it's easy to store but they have fresh prawn in it with much better taste of course!) we also had Kottu which was also way better than anywhere else and banana rotti as dessert. Very cool and nice atmosphere there- you can see the liveliness in the kitchen, feel how people enjoy the food. Last but not least, the price is amazingly reasonable compared to all others we've been to given the high quality we experienced as nowhere else.
