Pizzabakeren — Restaurant in Gävle kommun

It’s a bit like dominoes in the USA when it comes to thickness, consistency and topping distribution. This is the first place in Sweden I have found that actually slices the pies, woweee! It should get an extra star just for that. Having lived in NYC with the best pizza it is very difficult to find a decent slice in Sweden. Crust in Gävle is far better but this one is worth a try. Nothing authentic or unique about it, it screams commercialized consistency but hey I’ve had far worse in Sweden. Tuesday are buy one get one so why the heck not? It is filling and not too pricey. They have different sizes too so that is good....

I feel kinda bad leaving this review because the staff were very nice. But the food was terrible, possibly the worst pizza Ive ever had. The pizza base is not how pizza should be, it’s soft and spongy like bread. They must be using the wrong type of flour or something. Seems like the place has new owner. Quite friendly and english speaking staff. They haven’t started yet but they didn’t mind making us part of their pizza testing because we went in after seeing some movement inside and its no doubt they got to be best pizza in Gävle.
