Thank you to everyone for this very memorable experience. The staff is amazingly friendly and it is clear the cooks are passionate. Upon arriving we asked the waiter to create a menu for us as we did not want to choose ourselves. A few so good (ESCABECHE) I was reluctant to share with my companion. However I did wish a bolder/more memorable experience with the red meats, be it through presentation or more "exotically tasting" features. We had the hybrid wine and non-alcoholic experience; the non-alcoholic drinks are a home made, unique and wonderfully tasteful. I don't know much about wines, but think the ones we got fit well with their dishes, I was particularly impressed by the desert companions. The only thing I would wish for on a return visits is not be seated beside the kitchen/bar, due to the amount of traffic. It was also right beside the entrance. I prefer a dining experience with less distractions. We got to go into the kitchen to thank everyone for our experience. In total I payed 3800 SEK for 2 people (5 course menu, hybrid drinks and aperitif).

18 dishes and they were all excellent. My wife and I had the 8 course menu. It was served in 8 servings where 7 servings had two alternatives. We were recommended to order different alternatives for every serving, turning our 8 course menu to 15 (albeit smaller) courses. In addition to this, we got 3 appetizers to start with making the total number of dishes served a whopping 18. We also ordered the non alcoholic drink package which was very good. No sparkly water and off-the-shelf apple juice in sight. Instead, we got served home made juices and teas, well paired with each dish. MUCH recommended! The best thing on the menu was the moose tartare. My least favorite dish was the leeks terrine. I'm simply not a truffles fan.

We had a transcendent experience at Carbon, thanks to the incredible work and skill of Marc, Hilding, and the team. The culinary voyage commenced with a tantalizing offering of Brazilian cheese-filled bread, a delectable prelude that earned a resounding 10/10 acclaim. Following suit was the exquisite Fogra crambrulai, an exceptional dish that garnered a commendable rating of 9/10. A palate-cleansing sorbet, skillfully crafted to perfection, further elevated the dining experience with its flawless execution, earning an unequivocal 10/10 appraisal.

Funderar du på vilken finkrog du ska välja i Göteborg? Mitt tips är att spara pengarna och höja upplevelsen vid att välja en annan restaurang. Välj hellre Koka, Project eller Human, då detta är enastående restauranter.

Jag har ätit på väldigt många restauranger i Göteborg och det här var en av dem jag hade sparat lite och längtat till. Tyvärr matchade inte upplevelsen mina förväntningar alls.

Vi blev satt till bords av en trevlig servitör, men några sekunder senare kommer ägaren av restaurangen med en stor kamera på sin axel och säger ”Vi ska filma här i kväll, på bordet bredvid”. Redan här kände jag att det här kommer inte bli så som vi hade tänkt oss. För det första, säg något när vi bokar om att bordet bredvid oss ska filmas för kvällen. Då hade vi haft möjlighet att välja någon annan kväll, vilket vi hade gjort då en stor kamera är störande för atmosfären. Tycker det var väldigt nonchalant av ägaren att lösa det på detta sättet och det borde varit informerat om innan. I alla fall borde man fått en kompensation, men det fick vi inte.

Vidare tok denna inspelningen hela fokuset till personalen och maten. Allt blev lite halvdant för våran del, då det säkert blev lagt mer krut på att få till en bra inspelning. Jag förstår att detta är viktigt, men vi ville gärna inte varit lidande av det då det att spendera 6000 kr på ett restaurangbesök inte är vardag för oss. Vi fick till ex en kall och lite seg friterat krabba, vilket enligt en servitör skulle vara kvällens höjdpunkt och det blev et slags symbol för hela kvällen.

En siste punkt var snålheten som jag upplevde på restauranten. For det första att vi inte blev kompenserat för mangel på information om inspelning. För det andra så bytte vi från hybrid-vinpaket till full halvvägs i vår 8 rätters meny, men på notan fick vi betala för fullt vinpaket. Snålt. Och det kändes extra snålt med tanke på inspelningen.

Totalt sett inte så imponerad över vår vistelse. Hade det varit en ”vanlig” restaurang, så hade jag inte brytt mig. Men 6000 kr är en investering för mig och detta var en dålig sådan.

Jag skrev ett mejl till restaurangen för en vecka sen, men dem har inte svarat. Det höjer ju hellre inte intrycket.

Edit: Jag har nu fått svar från restaurangen efter jag la upp recensionen och svaret höjer inte mitt intryck av restaurangen, snarare blir det värre. Restaurangägaren tar noll ansvar eller skuld för vår upplevelse och hävdar att det är kundens ansvar att stoppa inspelningen. Det är också kundens ansvar att kolla att notan stämmer. Den ända form av ”kompensation” vi blir erbjudna är att komma tillbaka så ska dem betala mellanskillnaden mellan en 5 och 8 rätters. En ”kompensation” som täcker den felaktiga notan vi fick. Restaurangägaren förminskade och ljög om vår upplevelse med att hävda att inspelningen var ”bara 45 minuter”, när den i själva verket pågick i 3 timmar. Restaurangägaren blev också otrevlig och sa att vi var ute efter ett gratis måltid. Nej, vi ville bara ha en...
