West Coast — Restaurant in Göteborgs Stad

I would first like to say that even though this is a fish restaurant, I didn't get any fish. I got a shrimp salad in a hotdog bun, although I don't think there were any shrimp in it, as I couldn't find any at all. Regarding the appetizer, I have to say that it tasted good. The finely toasted onions on top, like on a hotdog, added something special to the flavor. I can recommend this appetizer even to someone like me who doesn't like fish. For the main course, I chose schnitzel. As you can see in the picture, this version of schnitzel is micro-sized. The meat itself tasted fine, but nothing special. The potatoes were overcooked and almost seemed like mashed potatoes on the inside. They weren't good, but since there was hardly any meat, I ate them anyway. Dessert was a bit of ice cream, a dollop of rhubarb, some cream, and a coffee. It tasted fine, but again, nothing special. In my opinion, the portions were like a tasting menu, and not something you can get full from.

Jeg fik en rejesalat i pølsebrød, dog tror jeg ikke der var nogen rejer deri, da jeg fandt ikke nogle rejer overhoved? Jeg vil først sige om den forret, at der faktisk smagte godt. Det at der var fine ristede løg på toppen, som på en hotdog, det gjorde noget specielt ved smagen. Denne forret kan jeg godt anbefale selv til en fiskehader som jeg selv. Hovedretten der valgte jeg schnitzel. Som du ser på billedet, så er denne version af en schnitzel i micro størrelse. Selve kødet smagte fint, men dog ikke noget specielt over dette overhoved. Kartoflerne var overkogte og virkede nærmest som kartoffelmos inden i. De var ikke gode, men da der næsten ikke var noget kød, så blev de spist. Desserten: Lidt is, en klat rabarber og noget Cream og en kaffe til. Den smagte fin men igen ikke noget specielt. I min verden er retterne på størrelse med en smagsprøve, og altså ikke noget man kan...

Super delish food, super friendly and fast service, what else do you need?

I had Strip Loin medium cooked. It was so delish and perfectly cooked as requested. The potatoes cut in thin and easy to eat. Everything on the plate blends nicely.

My bf had meatballs, which came with mashed potatoes and cranberries sauce on the side. It was also so yummy.

There were only Apple and Praline available for dessert, so we had the Apple ones, which was the real apple fruit peeled thin served with hard vanilla ice cream and cookies crumbs. Super likey!

Relax and enjoy! Simply wonderful place to have a dinner and delightful conversation. Staff is very welcoming and food is well prepared with a touch of presentation. Everyone is welcome, no need to be a guest of a hotel. They have great selection of wines that go well with a meal. You can even see the meat they are about to prepare in the glass fridge.
