Olson's is the best Italian restaurant I've eaten at in Helsingborg hands down. The pasta is fresh, the sauces are amazing, and the staff is quite friendly. For starters, the caramelized Taleggio is very good. I like their bruschetta, but find the portion size to be a bit on the small side. For mains, The spaghetti al cabonara, and the ravioli are two of my favorites and I highly recommend trying them. I've had other dishes as well that are just as good, but you will have to come and see what you like! The restaurant is on the small side, so reservations are recommended if you want to get a table, and if you are on the taller/bigger side, you may find seating a little cramped at certain tables. The wait staff is great, but since it gets crowded for dinner, you will need a little patience as it may take some time to get around to serving you. I highly recommend Olson's on your next visit into town, or even if you are a local looking for a good Italian...
Read moreWe wanted assistance for 25 to 30 people on a Saturday lunch or brunch , and we talked to them ahead of time, if they would be willing to take that number . They open at 11 and we are willing to be there even earlier or at the time which they will accept .
But they wouldn't take the details as they don't take reservations or cater to a group during Saturday lunches. I said , we are willing to work with them, even order ahead of time, but no, she said, oh our menus changes daily. We then said, if they have a permanent item on menu, which she said pasta bolognese, which we are happy to have .
But no, no no. The person was not willing to serve our group. So, they lost not just one but more and more people . But maybe, they don't need our business. Service is something perhaps , they don't understand.
It's unfortunate, as we were really looking forward to...

Sloppy salad before the meal, not exactly freshly baked bread and the pasta was very much "school canteen". The pasta was both overcooked and the sauce was very gelatinous, like it was made with cornstarch. Quite flavourless, so both salt and pepper was well needed. Then ready-grated parmesan is under all criticism. Heard that the evening meal should be superb, maybe different chefs? A bit slow to remove plates, so we did it ourselves. How ever, the service was super nice and the place was incredibly cozy. Even the coffee was not that good, watery and incredibly hot (we joked that it was as hot as the McDonalds incident that everyone has heard about a few years ago...)
But in the end, you are mainly at the restaurant for the food and that experience was unfortunately...
