First time I haven't had to explain the difference between lactose intolerance and dairy protein allergy. He earned the big tip there... They were closing their kitchen but said no problem. Between us we ate everything on the meat list and it was all very good. The flavours are complex and exquisitely paired. It's as good as my favourite Michelin star restaurant back home. Each dish is a standalone thing, so I got a rice with some meat dishes figuring I'd be dipping between them but ate each separately. They called it japas, Japanese tapas, and it really is. I hear they do dance club style nights and the bad reviews seem to be of that. When we went it was midweek and quiet. We had a bunch of cocktails and the local Swedish coffee. All good. They didn't have sweetener for the coffee and I'm diabetic but honestly, I was on holiday and necking cocktails so hardly a medically responsible evening. The guy serving us was attentive but not overbearing and that's a tricky balance. So yeah, I might come back to this city just to...

A pretty good, Asian restaurant with a quite large dining area. Fancier than your average Thai food place.

I was here as part of a larger gathering and while it’s a nice space, it’s also loud. They have smartly added some curtain like thing in the roof, but it’s still noisy.

Even though there were a lot of us, we got our food rather quickly. I had ordered the fish soup, with several types of fish in it. It was well made, with a lot of spices. It was fine.

That said, most other people lived their food, so I’d still recommend Yoko if you want slightly more interesting Asian food in a...

Both the food and cocktails were aesthetically pleasing but it took a turn south from there. You could tell that the raw food was of high quality, but it was all unfortunately ruined by unnecessary gimmicks and strange seasoning. Amazing sashimi salmon ruined by some weird flour just to name one. The cocktails were supposed to be twists of modern classics, but they mostly just missed the mark and became worse versions of the originals. I think they're just trying too hard, but if they can sort out what to do with their solid foundation I think there's a lot...

Avoid if possible. The serving sizes don't match the price, even if you account for higher quality. Some things are even borderline scams. The Wagyu was chewy, and even cut the wrong way (along the grain, rather than against), which suggests a lower grade and/or a inexperienced chef, and the noodles were drenched in a sesame sauce, that had no semblance of flavour balance whatsoever. The staff were polite though, and they have a pleasant atmosphere. But the restaurant itself seems to have somewhat of an identity crisis. Interesting meny. Terrible execution.
