Ersta terrass — Restaurant in Stockholm

I just attended a two-day conference at Ersta Konferens and had the pleasure of dining at Ersta Terrass, the on-site restaurant. Situated atop Erstaklippan in Södermalm, the restaurant offers breathtaking views over Stockholm’s inlet, including sights of Gamla Stan, Skeppsholmen, and Gröna Lund .  

Ersta Terrass is part of Ersta Diakoni, a non-profit organization that encompasses a hospital, church, hotel, and various social services . The restaurant serves a lunch buffet on weekdays from 11:00 to 14:00, featuring classic dishes with global influences, prepared with care and high-quality ingredients . The spacious outdoor terrace provides a serene atmosphere, making it a nice spot for a meal or coffee break (the coffee actually gets only 3 stars)

Despite its central location, the prices are really reasonable, especially considering the quality of food and the stunning views. The restaurant is easily accessible, with bus 53 stopping just a four-minute walk away, providing convenient transport to the central station.

I visited here a week ago but I didn't have a lunch back then. This time I did and it was absolutely worth it. Unfortunately, there was salmon on the menu on that day and I can't eat it because of my allergy. Anyway, there was a lot more on the menu than just salmon, such as delicious couscous, new fresh potatoes with some kind of spiced butter and wonderful spiced noodles, different beans etc. Then they had this dessert, a very good strawberry cake and coffee or tea. The atmosphere was nice and the staff very helpful and polite. The price of lunch was 139 SEK, which is not much considering the fact that the portions were so big. I truly enjoyed this terrace! This place has a wonderful view of Djurgården, Old town and other islands. I was there a Thursday late afternoon and had no problem finding a free spot. The staff were all very kind and sweet, especially the young girl behind the counter. They do t have too many options in terms of what to drink, however they have all the classic options and a few drinks/cocktails.
