Stopped here after a movie at Filmhuset and was pleasantly surprised to find their menu is a bit different from the usual Indian restaurant menu - a bit of a Bengali twist. I ordered the lemon malai chicken (a mild Malay-influenced dish) on the waiter's recommendation and it was really good, interesting mix of flavors that definitely reminded me of Malay food as well as Indian! The food is North Indian in style but not as rich as at many places. Note that some dishes are very sweet, so ask the waiter if you are not looking for that.
We also ordered the palak paneer pakora appetizer, which was not what I imagined from the description but was incredibly good, with a really wonderful and interesting mix of flavors. This is a slightly more upscale restaurant (they plate their food nicely!), so the appetizer came with only two super-delicious pieces. If you want to share appetizers you might want to order more than we did!
I will definitely be back and can't wait to try more dishes that are new to me! A perfect way to follow up a movie...
Read moreI ordered through Uber eats and I think it's always more difficult to get a fair picture of the place. My first impression was how extremely fast my order was prepared which is not necessarily something positive when ordering a dish for 255 kr.
Tastewise my Rogan Josh turned out to be OK but I felt like something is missing to lift up the sauce. It was not as flavourful as I experienced at my other favourite restaurants. The dish also came with a small soup and side salad which I think is really nice. There was supposed to be mango chutney but this was forgotten. The lamb was a bit too dry for me. The rice clearly not fresh or even close (which is usually ok but I think it had been sitting a little too many hours). Quality of rice also not the best, not so long grain basmati. I ordered close to closing time.
Overall it was not bad but the quality fits in more at a around 130 kr Indian lunch place. Also the menu is super large, perhaps its better to focus on fewer dishes with...
Read morei can only imagine that most of these reviews are fake, I ordered dal puri and mughlai paratha and frankly i was surprised to see them on the menu, because most "indian" restaurants here are way below sub-par knowing only how to render an avergae version of the basic sauces, and these are somewhat offbeat dishes! not to my surpise, the dal puri was very likely just deforsted from a frozen brand they sell in indian supermarkets and was simply so disgusting! the amount they charge is obnoxious, its like they are makign a 80% profit with this kind of service, only heavens know what kind of "cooks" they hire...anybody they can get on a visa and plane, probably never been in a kitchen anywhere. next the mughlai paratha, wow! simply a deep fired flour with omeletter poorly cooked , and that cost 150! the quality was so poor they...
