Disappointing experience due to poor customer service

I recently visited this restaurant with my 3-year-old daughter. While the food was good, the customer service experience was very poor and left a bad impression.

When I arrived at the counter to pay, the tall, slim woman with glasses was kind and helpful. She offered to divide my daughter's meal in half since it was a large portion. She also informed me that the drinks were included. However, when I went to the fridge to let my daughter choose a drink, a short, plump woman who was serving food came out from the kitchen and rudely told me that only my daughter's drink was free, and asked me to put the other drink back. This lack of clear communication was frustrating as I could have easily paid for the drink that I was holding in my hands.

After finding a seat, the same woman brought our food over. When I asked if she could divide my daughter's meal, she abruptly said my daughter could just eat what she wanted and the rest would be packed up. This contradicted what I had been told at the counter about dividing the meal.

When it was time to get cutlery, I had to ask the same woman, who pointed me in a rude and aggressive manner to where the cutlery was. I felt very unwelcome and like I was being an inconvenience, despite being a paying customer like everyone else.

Towards the end of the meal, I decided to clear my own plates to the counter since we didn’t eat at all and wanted our food packed up and since the woman had ignored my request for assistance. The woman then brought me some plastic boxes and asked me to pay for 10kr each to pack up the leftover food. She then said that they couldn’t help me pack up despite having a child in my hands. I felt treated like I was begging for food, when I had paid the full price like everyone else. She was so unprofessional and racially biased. Fortunately, one of the other staff members, the kind woman I had dealt with at the counter, noticed the poor treatment and came to apologize. She helped me pack up the food and even opened the door for me as I was leaving with my daughter in a stroller.

Overall, the food may have been good, but the terrible customer service, particularly from that one particular woman , really ruined the experience. As a person of color, I felt I was treated differently and unfairly compared to other customers. I would not recommend this restaurant based on...

My experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing, not due to a language barrier, but because of the blatant racial bias exhibited by one of the staff members. The woman who served us was not only rude but also absolutely unprofessional. Her behavior went beyond poor service; it was clear she was treating us differently because of our race. Respect and kindness are basic human decencies that do not require any language proficiency, and unfortunately, this establishment failed on both counts.
