Qu'importe — Restaurant in Carouge

We stumbled upon this place while walking through Carouge before a dinner reservation. We decided to have a drink and this place looked more lively than others near by, so we popped in and sat at the bar. We were warmly greeted by a bartender named Mark, who showed enthusiasm to speak English as we are Americans with very little French in our vocabulary. Not only did Mark serve us with a smile, he also took great interest in having a conversation with us. At this point in our stay in the Geneva area, very few locals have taken the time to go out of their way to converse with us, so it was exciting and a pleasant surprise to spend a part of our evening with Mark. By the end of our stay at the bar, Mark was calling us his “Chicago friends” and gave us a complimentary shot to celebrate our new found friendship. Thank you, Mark, for making our day and being so kind!

As for the bar itself, the atmosphere was wonderful. Not too dark, not too bright, with plenty of seating to go around. If we were staying in the area longer, we definitely would return for dinner. If you are visiting the area, I highly recommend a stop in! Hopefully, you can be served by Mark and make a new friend just...

Un lieu dans lequel manquent cruellement de: 1/ sens du service: ils ont servit un guacamole coupé au fromage blanc, le goût n’avait absolument rien à voir avec un guacamole, aucune épice, simplement mauvais. Nous avons renvoyé le produit en demandant ce qu’il se passait. On nous a d’abord dit « c’est comme ça, nous avons revisité la recette ». Ils ont finit par accepter de tenter une deuxième fois de le refaire après avoir questionné cette approche du service. Ils nous renvoie un immondice, que toute la table a trouvé immangeable. Nous leur renvoyons donc, désolés, la commande, la serveuse demande si nous souhaitons annuler la commande, ce que nous confirmons, elle va demander à sa responsable et reviens vers nous en nous disant qu’elle peut reprendre le guacamole et nous faire payer les chips: « c’est tout ce que je peux faire »

Ce que nous comprenons de cette approche est que le sens du service est inexistant. Ce n’est pas une attitude digne de professionnels de la restauration et nous retenons immanquablement que cette adresse est dédié à la maximisation du profit uniquement.

2/ La musique innapropriée qui ne correspond absolument pas à l’ambiance suggérée par un décor pourtant chaleureux (Grand Point fort de ce bar pourtant, c’est vraiment dommage…)

3/ la responsable refusant de venir parler à la clientèle en cas d’incompréhension et d’insatisfaction évidente des clients, grand manque de professionnalisme.

Qu'importe offers impeccable service in a cosy ambience, making it a delightful dining experience. While the drinks were satisfactory, they didn't quite reach the level of excellence expected for a tapas restaurant.
