Sawasdee Restaurant — Restaurant in Carouge

I have never eaten so bad Thai food in Europe. Thai restaurant but the most of the personnel seems to be of Chinese origin. Not very polite and not helpful on choices. Knowing well Thailand this is what I noticed on these 3 classics of Thailand. Pad Thai very low quality overall, a small quantity even of rice noodles, missing flavor of the main ingredient tamarind, cilandro, lime. Green papaya salad without red spicy chilies (they didn’t even ask how spice we want it to be) inexistant green lime flavor. Red curry chicken, curry flat taste, few pieces of chicken and 3 green beens as vegetables, rice ball and quantity so small and few I was shocked. Very expensive in view of the quantities on the plates in view of the cost of these ingredients. I will definitely not recommend this...

This was the second time I had lunch here in Sawasdee. The reason to choose this restaurant was its close proximity to my friends' residence and experience we had in the first time. Cozy environment with an indoor dining area and an outdoor terrace. Both were comfortable. Staff were very attentive and friendly. According to the restaurant owner, the chef was a Thai. He made a very tasty meal for us in our first visit that we enjoyed very much. This time was a little disappointed. The food was not as good. It's not authentic Thai flavour nor it's aromatic. Une expérience décevante et un service médiocre

Je suis très déçu par mon expérience dans ce restaurant. Lorsque nous sommes arrivés, le restaurant était pratiquement vide, ce qui nous a laissé espérer un moment agréable. Nous avons demandé une table pour trois, car nous avions commandé de nombreux plats à partager. Étant donné que la salle était vide, j'ai demandé si nous pouvions avoir une table ronde plus confortable qui était juste à côté ainsi je pouvais admirer la Salle et non pas le mur en face de moi . La serveuse a immédiatement refusé en disant qu'elle "n'avait pas le droit".

J'ai alors demandé à parler à un responsable, qui est venu et m'a répondu que lui non plus "n'avait pas le droit" car le patron n'était pas présent il est en vacances . Quand j'ai demandé pourquoi il ne pouvait pas prendre cette décision alors que le restaurant était vide, il m'a répondu avec arrogance et condescendance que c'était "comme ça".

Un service hautain et rigide comme celui-ci est inacceptable. Nous n'avons même pas eu l'occasion de goûter la cuisine, car nous avons décidé de partir face à un accueil aussi déplorable et avons laissé la commande tel quel !! En tant que client, je m'attends à un minimum de flexibilité et de respect, ce qui était clairement absent ici. Une expérience à oublier.
