Bar & Ristorante L'Incontro — Restaurant in Crissier

Our first experience at L'Incontro was truly awful. We were travelling to Italy and this experience was part of our stay at the B&B Hotel next door. The restaurant is not owned by the hotel but is used by them for breakfast. We chose to stay here as it was very convenient and close to the motorway. It also has this restaurant which I checked was open until 2200 knowing we would appreciate it after a long day of driving from France (over 500km). You will see I write another review for our return journey which could not have been more different! I guess we were just really unlucky with this visit.

After a difficult check-in, we entered the restaurant before 2100. There was a very large group of men drinking outside but they didn't seem to be using the restaurant as they had cans of beer in plastic bags. We were greeted by a polite man who spoke good English. We asked if we could sit down but he said the restaurant was closed. I asked him what time the restaurant should be open until but he just said it was closed. I asked him what time the restaurant had actually closed that evening but again he just said it was closed.

He asked if we were staying in the Hotel and we said yes. We then asked if we could take food away from the restaurant and he said it was possible to take Pizza away to our room. He asked if we wanted some drinks and we ordered two beers, a glass of wine and a juice for my very tired 5-year old Daughter. This cost us nearly £30. He gave us plastic glasses for the takeaway. We paid, and then he seemed to disappear around the side of the bar. We called him over and asked to order the pizza he'd said we could take away but he replied that the kitchen was closed. He then tried to send us to a restaurant 3 minutes' walk away which was owned by a friend of his. He gave the impression we would need go quickly because it would close soon. But what about the drinks we had just bought? I had bought an extra beer to enjoy with our pizza. Were we meant to drink them quickly and then head off in the dark in an area we did not know when there were many men outside which made us feel unsafe.

We said we would not go to the restaurant. He then invited us to sit down at some bar tables inside the restaurant near the door. But when we went over to sit down, he ushered us outside instead, saying the restaurant was closed! Quite unbelievable, really.

I'm not sure I have ever experienced such a dreadful customer experience. I felt this person's English was not the reason for any misunderstanding and I feel that we were deliberately conned into spending nearly £30 on the basis that we would be ordering take-away pizza. We had beer and wine in the car and could have drunk this in our room instead. We ended up eating snacks in a very hot room (see my hotel review) but at least we had some food.

I have kept my reviews of the Hotel and Restaurant separate as they both had problems. You will see from my second review of L'Incontro that it could not have been more different, so I think we just had a really bad experience on this occasion.

As long as it is open, this is a good place to eat but avoid if they are quiet and ask whether there is a chef there before you...

Ein besonderes Lob geht an das Team: Alberto, Regina und Catrin haben mit ihrer herzlichen, professionellen und aufmerksamen Art das Erlebnis perfekt gemacht. Der Service war erstklassig – freundlich, schnell und stets mit einem Lächeln.

Das Ambiente des Restaurants ist stilvoll und einladend, und die Kombination aus exquisiter Küche und tollem Service macht L'Incontro zu einer echten Empfehlung. Wer in der Nähe von Crissier ist, sollte sich dieses Restaurant nicht entgehen lassen!

Un grand merci à l’équipe : Alberto, Regina et Catrin ont rendu cette expérience encore plus agréable grâce à leur accueil chaleureux, leur professionnalisme et leur service impeccable. Toujours souriants, rapides et attentifs, ils ont su nous offrir une soirée parfaite.

L’ambiance du restaurant est élégante et conviviale, et la combinaison d’une cuisine raffinée et d’un service exceptionnel fait de L'Incontro une adresse incontournable. Si vous êtes de passage à Crissier, ne manquez surtout pas cette pépite !

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Un'esperienza culinaria indimenticabile! L'Incontro a Crissier ha superato tutte le mie aspettative! Il cibo era semplicemente eccellente – una bistecca succosa e cotta alla perfezione, accompagnata da contorni deliziosi, splendidamente impiattata e servita con grande attenzione ai dettagli.

Un ringraziamento speciale al team: Alberto, Regina e Catrin hanno reso questa esperienza ancora più speciale con il loro calore, professionalità e servizio impeccabile. Sempre sorridenti, veloci e attenti, ci hanno regalato una serata perfetta.

L'atmosfera del ristorante è elegante e accogliente, e la combinazione di cucina raffinata e servizio eccellente rende L'Incontro un locale imperdibile. Se siete nei dintorni di Crissier, non perdetevelo!

Mein Geschäftspartner hat dieses Restaurant ausgesucht. Ein italienisches Restaurant, wo man auch italienisch sprechen kann, kommt immer seltener vor, deshalb bin ich bereits von der ersten Minute an begeistert. Er erklärt, dass sie nebst der Menükarte auch ein Buffet haben und dort kann man sich selbst bedienen sowie speziellen Gerichten servieren, die nicht auf der Karte sind. Zu dritt haben wir uns für Salate und Pizzen entschieden. Der Salat war ohne Salz und auf dem Tisch gab es kein Salz zu sehen, die französische Sauce war tropfenweise verteilt worden, wie bei einer Nouvel Cousine. Sie haben bei der Bestellung nicht einmal gefragt, ob wir vielleicht doch noch italienische Sauce wünschten. Für mein Geschmack - es ging zu lange ein bisschen bis die 3 einfache grüne Salate erhielten. Wiederrum kamen die Pizzen sehr schnell und meine war sehr lecker und knusprig. Der Kellner machte ein professioneller Eindruck ohne arrogant zu wirken, was mir sehr gefallen hat. Das Ambiente ist sehr chic – die Terrasse habe ich allerdings nicht gesehen. 8-ung: Parkplätze vor dem Restaurant sind kostenpflichtig – ich wusste es nicht nur beim Rauslaufen, habe ich die Säule gesehen.
