Cinecittà — Restaurant in Geneva

Farewell Cinecitta!! Cinecitta was one of the few restaurants we supported during Covid, going there on a weekly basis. Although the lady with curly hair is particularly friendly, the owner/manager is something else!! And now I've had it.

It took 10 waves, 45 minutes wait for us to finally get our main course(we got there before 7pm). When we exchanged with the manager/owner, he simply said "we are busy" (the restaurant wasnt even 40% full) and didnt even think to simply apologise. Then he asked "do you want something else and the bill?", to which I first said, "maybe an apology would be in order?", to which he responsed, "yes, later".

I then explained the fact that we had been seated before 7pm etc, and as I was patiently talking, he walked away....

Let's just say that we are waiting for that apology....

Very very busy, we managed to get a table without booking, the female staff were professional, nice and friendly . The male staff were abrupt and almost rude. But they were very understaffed. We had to wait a long time for service and our food but they did apologise and bought a starter out for us. As we walked out we realised a table of at least 20 must have ordered before us. So fair-play. We ordered 2 pasta dishes that were incredible, the flavours were outstanding. However the pasta was too hard (even for an Italian) I'm sure because of the long wait, how busy it was, the chef was just trying to get food out. If it wasn't busy I would have sent back. However due to the excellent flavours, I would recommend this place and I will go back to try again, hopefully at a...

I went to Cinecitta tonight and asked if I could get a Margherita with mushrooms on top of it, as there was no funghi pizza on the menu and this is what my wife wanted. The waiter who took care of my order was super friendly, efficient and helpful, absolutely no complaint here. The food arrived quickly, so at this point, it was still "so far so good". The problem started when we actually opened the pizza at home. I was charged three francs extra for the mushrooms, which is normal considering it was a custom request from me. However, it seems we clearly don't have the same definition of what "extra mushrooms mean"....
