The hotel is very accessible. Shops and bus stops are near. The lake is also just few metres away. The train station is probably a 10-minute walk to or from hotel. The front desk ladies are also very helpful and speaks English very well.||We are located on the 3rd floor. The lift could only take 4 people at a time but you can also use the stair very careful coz it is quite narrow. The room were very spacious but more cleaning in the kitchen would do. We had slept well and were comfortable. They have this thick curtains so that it would block the light in the mornings when you wanted more time in bed. ||We chose a non-smoking room but when we asked the front desk, the gent said that we can just open the window and smoke (is it still considered non-smoking room???). Another thing is that when the television in our room was not working, we had this very nice front desk lady who went up and down to our room to sort it out. On the 4th time, we heard a faint sound from the door and when opened she was there was carrying this big and heavy telly. Nobody bothered to help her, this is too much for her size. We felt quite guilty for asking her to check the telly. Then she said her manager told her to bring her the telly and it will be changed tomorrow. ||Apart from those negative bits, we enjoyed our stay especially that we can cook our preferred for for...
Read moreAdvantages:|1. Location, location, location - 2 blocks from Rive, easy walk to old town, around the corner from the Jardin Anglais, the flower clock and the lake. Great spot. |2. Affordability: a twin room for two for 1 night for 109.60CHF with one week notice on booking.com|3. Nice enough reception staff|4. A code to get in after 11pm, which worked|5. Clean enough, hot water, good water pressure||Disadvantages:|1. Elevator/Lift smelled like fish (hallway also smelled strange)|2. Room far too hot (in winter, from radiators) with no way to turn it down -- had to open windows which then let in some traffic noise and sirens at night and very loud rattling of rubbish bins at 6:30am. |3. Everything in a bit of disrepair: broken toilet seat lid, cracks and chips on bathtub and kitchenette counter|4. Promised wifi didn't work on the 7th floor even though they gave us a password - the network didn't extend to our room. ||Can't decide if I would stay here again. The pros and cons are both strong. If you just want a place to sleep (albeit with windows open & some noise) for cheap in a good location, this works. If you want a pleasant experience, it doesn't...
Read moreThis hotel is in a very good central location, about fifteen minute walk to the station and near plenty of trams and buses and the lake. Staying here made it easy to keep the cost of a stay in Geneva reasonable. Furnishings were old and a bit tatty, especially the kitchen, but it was good enough to have breakfast there and cook dinner every evening. There are two supermarkets nearby. The beds were very comfortable and the studio, at the back of the building, was very quiet. Efficient heating, in fact we were so warm we had to leave windows open at night.||||We were given a Geneva Transport Card by the hotel, which enabled us to use buses, trams and trains, as well as the yellow river taxi boats, free within the Geneva area. We were, therefore, able to get back to the airport in seven minutes for free (rather than a 45 CHF taxi ride). Cleaning one day only out of a five day stay. If you're not looking for luxury, I would...
