I've lived close to this restaurant for more than a year and finally got around to eating there. I really wish I hadn't bothered.
Even 'tho the restaurant was 90% empty the owner (he dressed and acted like the owner) sat me next to the waiter station. I explained that I already knew what I wanted (the three streak sampler) and asked which of the wines by the glass he'd recommend. His response was to read the wine list to me, red AND white. At this point I felt my poor French had probably betrayed me so I switched to English and repeated my order/question. He responded by reading BOTH lists again, and when he'd finished I reminded him that I was having three steaks, so he could suggest a couple of glasses of red wine? Almost inevitably, he thought this meant he should go through the red wines once again, taking the time to clarify that Bordeaux is an area in France. Good to know.
I was so impressed that I ordered that fancy French wine, and less than a minute later the amuse bouches (thin ham: excellent) arrived, followed, about 30 seconds later, by the three steaks. I asked for them saignant, but still: these managed to be both cold AND overcooked, and there's only one reason for that. The steaks: #1 tough, overcooked, tasteless #2: way overcooked, dry, tasteless #3: the best, but still 50% as good as a steak I cooked at home last week, and paid CHF14 for.
The pepper sauce was watery, tasteless and the worst I've ever tasted, and the fries were dire. The wine was CHF12 for 110cl but we're in Switzerland so what are you gonna do, and as a consolation it was the only thing on the table that was worth the price.
Terrible service, rubbish food, great wine, and all for...
Read moreI am very confused of seeing so many good reviews on this restaurant as I went to eat there last week and felt that none of the google review applied! It is also perhaps due to the fact that the owner have changed since 2021 from understanding! Nevertheless, I did remember an amazing place the last time I can in 2019…. Think that the previous ratings that applied to the previous management should be removed as it they only can be considered as fake, now.
In all cases, I highly not recommended this restaurant as the price paid is not worth any cent of it and they even served me uncooked bone marrow which is to the best of my knowledge quite dangerous! Should have perhaps contacted the health authorities…
White wine list a la carte proposes only three bottle with each a price above chf 200 which is non-sense! Last time they were seeing me! To be fair they had one extra that was offered for chf 70, but looked cheaper than a chf 5 bottle at Denner.
Seriously, the worst part is that We had a 40% voucher with BuyClub, so imagine, if I had paid 100% for this nightmare ?!
There are lots of good steakhouses in Geneva with better meat quality and even cheaper prices, feel free to contact me for their names!
Lastly, this review is shared and approved by the three other guests I was with!
Only regret… is that we can’t put 0 star here!
Simply avoid and let natural selection take care of...
Read moreEverything is very classy at this place. At the entrance you have a warm welcome. They ask you to leave the coats which is very rare in Geneva and it’s very pity that many people don’t do. Because the set up of the restaurant is really stylish. It’s not an ordinary place where you eat your piece of beef. First of all the place is very spacious, lighten up, design, brand new, with confortable sofas and armchairs. Places like this we can see in London, Dubai, Moscow, Abu Dhabi, but very few in Geneva. Food is excellent. For meat eaters it is a place to eat and enjoy. Prices for what you get is more then correct. Geneva is expensive, however you never get for what you pay. Here you pay and you get even more than for what you pay. Exceptional service. Very professional. Sommelier, the waiters, the owner, the kitchen guys all is top. By the way they a Michelin star if I’m not mistaken. Have to be double checked. 7 stars restaurant!!! TOP! p.s. We get back after almost 2 month, it is still the same. TOP TOP TOP quality. I would have suggested to play a light backstage music, something not loud, classical or jazz. You will be the first resto in Geneva to do that. Don’t be scared! It will...
