A Must-Visit for Music Lovers
The venue is well-known for its world-class acoustics and historic architecture, attracting music lovers from all over the world. The experience was truly memorable, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Geneva.
Upon entering Victoria Hall, I was immediately struck by the grandeur of the space. The hall's rich history and attention to detail are evident in every corner, from the intricate carvings on the walls to the plush velvet seats. The acoustics are truly unmatched, providing a rich and immersive listening experience that transports you to another world.
However, there were a few areas where Victoria Hall fell short of a perfect 5-star rating. While the acoustics are exceptional, the seating arrangements can be a bit cramped, making it challenging to fully enjoy the music at times. Additionally, some of the amenities, such as the restrooms, could use a bit of an update.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the experience at Victoria Hall was exceptional, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Geneva. This venue is truly one of a kind, offering an unforgettable musical experience in a beautiful and historic setting. It is a must-visit for any music lover.
To improve the experience for visitors, I would suggest expanding the seating arrangements and updating the facilities to make them more comfortable and accommodating. This would make Victoria Hall an even more attractive destination for music enthusiasts and help the venue continue to thrive in the years to come.
In conclusion, I would highly recommend visiting Victoria Hall to anyone looking for a truly exceptional musical experience in Geneva. The venue is an icon in the city and well worth a visit. The unique ambiance and world-class acoustics will leave a lasting impression on you, and I can't wait to return on my next trip...

Coat service requires 1 CHF, learned this harsh truth after I gave my coat to the staff. If it werent for my lamentable self-consciousness, Id definitely ask it back. I understand that this is an additional service and perhaps people should be charged for that, but I did not expect the first time I was asked for a fee is from a city where its ave. monthly salary goes as high as ≈6,500 CHF. But I guess that old Chinese saying "the wealthier you are the more stingy you become" is right on point...
First time I ever seen a foldable audience seat with no back to support your lumbar, this is, if you still have one after almost two-hour performance. I mean it's entirely possible to connect the whole row and turn the foldable seat into normal ones, but why they havent I cant comprehend.

Read moreThe Victoria Hall could have been an acoustic marvel if not for the fire that broke in September 1984 and the consequent restoration of the auditorium during which the acoustics seem to have been mysterioysly lost. One can only wonder what they did during the restoration but currently the acoustics there have a lot to be desired. The building of the Hall was an idea of an Englishman, Daniel Barton, with the passion for the concerts given on boats sailing on Lake Geneva. The Victoria Hall was built between 1891 and 1894. Daniel Barton had come to Geneva to learn to manage his immense fortune and set up a Nautical Band in 1883. The orchestra enlivened regattas of which Barton was fond of. The orchestra needed an auditorium as the boat decks could be used only in summer. So, in honour of his wife, Victoria-Alexandra and the Queen Victoria, Barton had the Victoria Hall built. In 1905 the Hall was bequeathed to the City of Geneva. The auditorium Visitor's book contains many famous signatures, including those of Saint-Saen, Vincent d'Indy, Grieg, Rubenstein, Reineke...
