I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant L’Artichaut in Acacias neighborhood in Geneva, Switzerland.

The interior has a charming, typical bistro vibe with classic-style posters—some playing with food themes in a playful, artistic way—set against a brick wall, with ceiling fans completing the relaxed atmosphere. A nice touch: the napkin holders are made from repurposed Langobardi tomato concentrate cans (a well-known Italian brand), which adds a unique and tasteful flair. Tables are neatly woven and the service was very friendly throughout.

As for the food:

I had the soft-boiled crispy egg with morels and green asparagus in a jus. The dish was flavorful, the egg perfectly mollet, and everything blended harmoniously—not overly salty, which I appreciated.

My dining companion chose the tuna tataki with sweet pepper, green coulis, and lemon confit. She seemed happy with her dish, which I also captured in a photo.

For the main course, we both opted for the roasted turbot. I had mine with white asparagus from Les Landes and a tarragon emulsion, while she had hers with a tarragon emulsion and an endive tart tatin. Overall, the dish was well-seasoned and good—perhaps just a touch overcooked. However, the portion size of the fish was a bit underwhelming—likely around 150 grams per person, which felt a little light for a main course.

We didn’t order dessert. The final bill felt just slightly on the expensive side, especially considering the modest portion of the main course, but not outrageously so.

All in all, the cuisine is good, the setting is lovely, and the service is warm. A solid...

An absolutely phenomenal experience from start to finish! The food on the plate was sublime - delicious and artful - and the service by Raphael was even better. Shocked that this gem doesn’t have a Michelin star, as it’s significantly better than several starred restaurants I’ve visited. Cannot...
