Birdy's by Achtien — Restaurant in Ingenbohl

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Birdy's, a fine dining establishment that left a mixed impression.

While the food was certainly enjoyable, it didn't quite reach the heights of culinary ecstasy I was hoping for. The flavors were well-balanced, and the presentation was artful, yet there was a certain lack of something that left me wanting more. Don't get me wrong; the dishes were prepared with skill and precision, but they didn't quite achieve that "wow" factor I've experienced at other places.

What truly set this experience apart, however, was the outstanding service. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted warmly and made to feel like an esteemed guest. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, and their knowledge of the menu was commendable. I appreciate the effort they put into making our lunch special.

Interestingly, we were the only guests during lunch service, which made for a remarkably intimate and quiet atmosphere. It almost felt like a private dining experience. This solitude allowed us to engage in conversations without any distractions, something that's increasingly rare in today's bustling restaurant scene.

In summary, while the food at Birdy's was undeniably good, it didn't quite exceed my expectations. However, the exceptional service and the unique experience of being the sole patrons at lunch certainly left a positive mark. We ate at Birdy‘s Foodbar that holds a Michelin star which is more than deserved. The food was absolutely amazing, the flavor combination’s worked just incredibly well. I loved the fact that they pick berries and herbs themselves in their free time, just shows the commitment and team spirit. I have eaten in many Michelin star restaurants and this is was one of my favorite. The atmosphere is very relaxed and casual and the staff very friendly and attentive. Another highlight were their alcoholic and alcohol free cocktails which accompanied the courses. They were out of this world! We visited the restaurant on a sunday afternoon in the end of may.

It is nicely located near the water with an incredible view. The waitress was really nice and took the time to explain the dishes and how much we should order as we decided to share the dishes to be able to try more of the menu.

The food was incredible. Everything tasted so good. The salad ”lattichsalat caesar style” we ordered first was absolutely magical and also the dessert ”dunkles bier”.

I would recommend everyone this place even though it is quite expensive. I am a vegetarian but it was no problem for me to eat the food here. :)
