Big Bang Café - CERN Science Gateway — Restaurant in Meyrin

The food was overpriced and relatively average. The fries had so much salt that I drank two glasses of water to keep from drooling. But, beyond that, the main problem was the service. A bunch of unscrupulous workers, who were there not to serve, but to make fun of unsuspicious foreign tourists.

As I finished my order and paid a fortune for four unsalted chicken nuggets and a serving of extremely salty fries, I went to get the buzzer for my order. I made a mistake and took a buzzer that was charging at the time. The employee found the mistake of a 15-year-old very hilarious, as he slammed his hand on the counter, laughing non-stop. He kept pointing at me and making fun of me along with the other employs, (at the time i was having my lunch) while then laughing and talking about me even to my own friends, who were waiting in line.

I am incredibly saddened by the fact that such behaviors are almost never taken into account and that this dude is getting paid for this job, while still having such childish behavior. I hope you will take this critic into account and make sure something changes, as it would not be nice to repeat such bad behavior. It does not benefit you financially either, and...

Visited CERN for a guided tour with a group of 25 students. Due to a special diet, I brought my own food and politely asked the café chef if there was a facility to reheat it. He rudely replied, "NO PICNIC HERE! No outside food!" While I understand they might have this policy, however the unwelcoming attitude was disappointing and reflects poorly on CERN’s hospitality. Other large institutions I've visited, especially in the UK, usually offer small accommodations like a microwave for guests. Such a lovely place! I came here after a guided tour to CERN and I discovered that it is a lovely spot to reflect upon everything new I had just discovered about physics.
