La Croix Verte — Restaurant in Nyon

TL;DR takeout pizza was given to me cold and there was no option to get it set right before being ushered out the door. Disappointed despite years of good experiences. Go to Luigia instead if you have the choice!

Long version:

I used to go here all the time and the food was always amazing — but the past few times I’ve dined in, the food has been just alright. The pizza toppings have gotten sparse in recent years, and the crispiness of the pizza has gone down (despite requests for it to be kept in longer) so it’s always a bit doughy/chewy.

I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but today I decided to write the review because I got a takeout order of two pizzas. I ordered the pizzas to be ready at 7pm, I showed up to collect them at 6:58pm, and when they handed me the boxes, they were cold. I checked, the pizzas were lukewarm at best.

I told the lady that they were cold and she just brushed me off saying, “no they were made fresh” and then had me move so she could help the next person in line.

To be fair, there were a lot of people in line and they probably were overwhelmed. But it was just a disappointing experience when you pay all that money and can’t enjoy it despite calmly asking.

I also had requested spicy oil on the side with my order and that wasn’t provided. I was more concerned about the temperature at the time so I forgot to ask. It was just a bit chaotic and disappointing, and I wish I had gone to...

We (couple and our young child) went to this restaurant at 6:30 pm for an early dinner. There were maybe 5-6 tables occupied in the entire restaurant mostly in the front dining rooms. The person who welcomed us went to get the "directrice" who after a quiet exchange triaged us to the back end corridor at a small table cornered between a closet and a wall with no other guests in remote sight. We inquired why we were seated so remotely when there were so many better available spots but were assured it would get very busy! Well, we had our meal in this dead corner even forgotten by the staff for the most part (no one checking on our drinks, etc). By the time we left, there were still many free tables even in the front dining rooms. The food was just ok and the discrimination we received for having a young (well behaved) child just appalling (confirmed by a service person). We had specifically chosen this restaurant as advertised for their "family friendliness" so we felt strongly about sharing our unpleasant dining...

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant last Saturday. Although it is a pet-friendly place (and there were other dogs there), the staff gave us disapproving looks when we arrived with our dog, even though he was calm and well-behaved.

The biggest issue was how we were treated because we don’t speak French fluently. The staff seemed annoyed and made us repeat our order several times, clearly showing impatience and making us feel uncomfortable. In the end, they brought the wrong order, and it felt almost intentional — as if to make a point about our language skills.

I felt disrespected and unwelcome and ridiculed. What should have been a nice evening turned into a very unpleasant experience. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who values respectful and...
