Forgot to take pictures … Ooops 😁 Invited for lunch by a dear old friend, not used to eat something so rich in the middle of the day! The waiter was adorable, big smile and very amicable. We were outside, lovely weather, not crowded at this first day after weeks of fall in July, pleasant and someone came, just at the appropriate moment to open a parasol. So a well deserved 5 🌟for amazing service 🤩
The food: A little green salad came with, not so great in freshness for such place. I’m being honest.
Main course: My friend took “Filets de perches meunière” and was very pleased with them. The French fries looked perfect, thin and looked gorgeous. (For someone who doesn’t eat these ;) I had “Filets de sandre accompanied by risotto.” The fish was absolutely delicious 😋 and so was the risotto, with some tiny pieces of some veggie, can’t remember what it was yet cut as small as the grains of rice, surprising and very nice. There was just a little too much of it so it took me ages to try to have it all. So, I almost regretted not being a little more hungry. My friend took a dessert, I never do and there was no space for anything more than a coffee. She had “Café gourmand”, which again looked delicious and she confirmed! The coffee was good and it’s important for those who like coffee as I do and without sugar.
All together, a wonderful experience that was worth the amazing critics seen online prior to this meal.
Eating in Switzerland does have a cost, especially with a strong money, and it seems to me this lovely place does deserve to be experienced as a treat 🥰
Wait, did I forget to give it more stars? I mean for the food?
In fact, it’s only me who didn’t have much appetite. I was also a little sick. The food does deserve more than that as well.
We had a fantabulous time there 🤩 I only wish they had creative salads for people like me. Go for it, I bet you won’t regret it!!
Kudos...
Read moreAfter hearing glowing recommendations from a friend, I felt compelled to visit L'Ancre, and it certainly lived up to the praise. From the moment we arrived, the friendly and welcoming staff contributed to an exceptional dining experience. The food was nothing short of incredible—each bite bursting with rich flavors, prepared with fresh and high-quality ingredients. I can confidently say that this restaurant stands out as one of my favorite dining establishments. I have introduced several friends to it, all of whom have been equally impressed by the well-crafted menu and excellent value for money. The dishes strike a perfect balance between being filling yet light, making for a truly enjoyable meal.
