Sushi Haiku — Restaurant in Nyon

Unfortunately quite disappointing. We ordered it through eat.ch. The indicated time till delivery was said to be about 1.5 hours. A bit long in my overall experience but still ok….since I saw other reviews stating that the delivering takes usually around 2 hours I was sort of prepared to wait a bit longer.

After 2.5 hours still nothing….we called the restaurant and they told us, that our food is almost ready and will be with us in 15min. We waited another 45min until it finally arrived... On the phone, the person was very friendly and understanding, the restaurant recommended to not order through eat.ch next time. Not because it will be faster, but ordering through the restaurant directly can give a better anticipation, on how long it will actually take. But I still think, almost 3.5 hours in total on a Tuesday weeknight is outrageous. We ordered Sushi for two people!

So we thought while waiting, ok, for the next time we would just take the long waiting hours into consideration, if the Quality of the sushi would have been good and worth it. But unfortunately the quality didn’t justify the looong waiting. The taste was ok…the individual sushis were sticking together so much that it was a massacre to separate them, the sushis were falling apart before even making it to the mouth.

To be fair, I didn’t expect it too blow my mind but all things considered, I don't think we will order here again. Which is a pity, because I really was hoping for a...

I made a simple order from the restaurant directly (physically), the manager said the food will be ready in 10 minutes, it was ready in 25 minutes. It is disappointing as it happens for the second time (same manager).

After I said that it is not normal to give such bad time estimation, and they could inform me because I was always just waiting outside the restaurant (cold and dark), the answer was “I know, but we had many orders on Uber eats”.

As I understand, Uber eats is more important than “walk in” customers because of the rating.

The food is not bad, but definitely not worth...

C'est un bon sushi dans le secteur de Nyon. Probablement un des meilleurs si on se réfère à la zone nyonnaise.

Après, ce n'est pas le meilleur de suisse, et si on compare avec les maîtres Sushi japonais, il y a encore de la marge de progression possible. Une chose que j'ai remarqué, c'est que les sushis peuvent être parfois très biens faits, avec un poisson plus goutu et un riz plus finement apprété. Et parfois, ils sont un peu plus bourrus, un peu plus "tout venant". Cette variance dans la qualité d'exécution me laisse penser qu'ils n'ont pas toujours le même chef sushi derrière le comptoir.

Je commande régulièrement chez eux depuis plusieurs années, personne n'a jamais été malade. Que ce soit moi ou mes invités. Certains de mes amis commandent là aussi, et aucun n'a jamais été malade non plus. Internet est pratique pour transformer nos erreurs d'appréciations en vérités empiriques. Méfiez-vous des avis à une étoile sortis du fond du monde.

Le seul point négatif que je peux donner à cet endroit, c'est que les délais de livraison sont parfois longs à en cr_ver. Mais vraiment. Genre 2 heures, 2heures et demies, pour te faire livrer. Ce n'est pas systématique, mais c'est déjà arrivé.

Edit novembre 2020 Après une commande qui nous a exposé à une forte souffrance par la faim, et exposé aux mensonges du standard téléphonique, nous avons décidé de modifier notre avis et de ne plus commander chez Sushi Haiku. Un retard de plus de 3 heures et demie, un aller simple du livreur de 1h depuis Nyon, plus de 4 heures de livraison au total et aucune excuse présentée, sont autant de points...
