Banfi's — Restaurant in Sankt Moritz

Best restaurant I've visited in Switzerland. After trying so many different restaurants in Switzerland with mediocre taste but overpriced meals, this restaurant offers super delicious meals with very generous portions and affordable price (can say even cheap if you see the portions they gave you!). Very happy with my visit here - both chefs (Luigi and Giuseppe) are very friendly and making sure we get the tastiest meals! Daniela who greeted us also very sweet and making sure we had a great time. All the wines she recommended are such great pairing with the food. This was really a hidden gem that made us decided to come back again the day after for another dinner. Needless to say both dinners were beyond amazing. Every item we had in this small cosy restaurant was excellent. They served a welcome dish (unpictured) of an omelette with delicious house made sweet curry sauce and small slice of toast. Highly recommend the pasta with prawns (bottom right of image). Pasta was fresh and prawns were springy 😍. The veal escalope with porcini mushroom sauce (left of image) is also highly recommended. Veal was extremely tender and mushroom sauce was creamy and flavourful. Served with a side of country fries (unpictured) we enjoyed so much we ordered a second serving. Octopus dish (middle of picture) was served with lemon-y sauce and tasted very fresh. Beef bolognese was also very well done.

We booked our table months in advance - as we knew this would mark the start our glacier express trip in St. Moritz - and I’m so glad we chose this restaurant.

First of all, the main chef was in hospital and they were going to close, but they even stayed open for us as we reserved so far in advance! They were a bit understaffed, but honestly, the food is worth the wait.

The staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.

The food - amazing. I’m still dreaming about the ossobuco with risotto alla Milanese! Honestly anything on the menu is great here.

To finish your meal, try any of the grappa nonnino! We ended up trying 4 of them - all very delicious.
