Chekes Mexican Food — Restaurant in Schaffhausen

Cozy Mexican restaurant with four tables inside and 2 small tables outside the front. Selection of classic margaritas and other beverages. Menu options were relatively simple and on point for street type food. Ordered the three taco platter and beef and pork were nicely cooked, seasoned and garnished. The shredded chicken meat was mushy and over cooked. Tortillas were handmade. The food and drink were good but the service was pretty poor. Nice guys working there but took 15-20 minutes and a reminder at the cashier to come take our order. After the order was taken, another 15-20 mins to get our food (premade street tacos take about a minute to assemble) and a guacamole starter was forgotten. Not optimal. Love this guy. Love the atmosphere. Love the food. Love my experience every time I come, meeting so many different people on each occasion. A foreign escape inside Switzerland. A hidden gem. Makes me wish I lived in Schaffhausen.

Ok so the food is made with love and passion. Very authentic Mexican. Don't think tex-mex, at all!!!!!!

Authentic Mexican food. I'd recommend this to anyone, it's delicious. I added quite a few more photos since the beginning, my favourite is still the burrito Al Pastor, though. 👍

Relatively new on the menu is Pulpo Guajillo. Trust me, you've never had Octopus so tender (in Switzerland). Very delicious and spicy. The smoked peppers give it a very nice flavor. Don't forget to ask for cheke's salsa and additional habanero salsa if you want to take your taste buds on a trip.
