Abaco Chocolat Suisse — Local services in Schaffhausen

Small café-restaurant in the historical part of Schaffhausen. They serve real hot chocolate during the day and Thai food for dinner. I came for a hot chocolate and was caught by the exuberant decoration that is only matched by the waitress' body tattoos. The chocolate is overpriced at CHF 9.50 including a small piece of chocolate on the side. Really incredible little cafe in the back alleys of Schaffhausen! It's main part is indeed a chocolaterie, but it's for the slightly oddly decorated cafe/restaurant serving east asian food that you need to come! We had the lunch menu (3 course) for 25.- and we just had jugs of water on the side for free (as you normally can in Switzerland) making it a very affordable enjoyable experience. Das Lokal: An sich ist es recht klein, aber irgendwie heimelig. Sobald es voll ist, ist es irgendwie beengend. Man kann kein privates Gespräch führen ohne, dass die Nachbarn am Nebentisch mithören und immer wieder reinquatschen. Die Glacés/Pralinés: Sind ein Gaumengenuss wirklich empfehlenswert! Das thailändische Essen: Ist nichts für die jenigen die sich an authentische, intensive thailändische Küche gewöhnt sind. Das thailändische Essen dort ist eher etwas für die Jenigen wo geschmackloses/fades Essen mögen. Für mich ist das Essen im abaco gar nicht lecker. Es ist nur ihhhh.

Local:Is very small, if u're there it's like homely. But once the restaurant is full, it's kind of cramped. Then you can't have private conversations without the persons sitting next to you by the next table listening and join into your conversation without a invitation. Ice creams/pralines: The Ice creams and pralines are a treat for the palate and really recommendable. The thai food: Is nothing for people who are used to an authentic, intense thai kitchen.
