Museum Stemmler — Attraction in Schaffhausen

This is a small museum with a private collection of stuffed animals and bones. The collection was donated to the city of Schaffhausen.

Since the entry is free, it is a good choice to bring kids here for an hour. Unfortunately it opens only on Sundays.

Hidden in a side street, by chance, we found this little museum with a huge collection of preserved animals. It's several floors with hundreds of preserved animals of different types and skeletons. Specially birds. Great to spend some time watching animals, but also to learn to identify birds (find the tablets that where you can play the different bird sounds). I came across this museum by accident, so I had no idea what to expect. It is full of stuffed animals, hides, skeletons, and other nature items. There is actually quite a lot to see, and it was interesting. It is not suitable for people who use a wheelchair or have mobility issues. There was no lift, and some areas were too narrow to easily move a wheelchair around. There were toilets....
