s'Buffet Beck-Away Bistro Bar — Restaurant in Stans

I recently stopped by a bar restaurant next to Stans Station and unfortunately left feeling deeply unsettled. While the bread and sandwich I purchased were decent, what truly ruined the experience was witnessing how a fellow traveler was treated. A quiet man who had just bought a drink and snack from the same shop sat down at an empty table near me — keep in mind, the place was virtually empty, with at least 95% of the tables unoccupied. Shockingly, a staff member, a woman with dark hair and glasses, approached him and insisted he eat outside, claiming the food was for take-away only. He explained that he’d bought everything from the shop and was just trying to finish it in peace, because it's very hot outside, but she insisted he eat outside of the store regardless. Watching this unfold was extremely uncomfortable. The man wasn’t causing any disruption, he simply wasn’t a local and spoke English. Seeing him pushed out and forced to eat outside on the ground made me feel disgusted. It wasn’t even about policy at that point, it was about basic decency and hospitality, especially in an establishment that wasn’t even remotely busy. As someone visiting Switzerland, this left a really sour impression. I’ve never witnessed a customer treated like this in the US, and honestly, I chose to leave rather than finish my food. I didn't expect I'd have the best hotdogs of my life while on a vacation in Switzerland! There's a wide variety of flavors to choose from, and the ingredients are locally sourced! Each hotdog even has a different sausage that complements the theme and dough of the bread! I thoroughly enjoyed the corn bread dough of my mexican hotdog. There's so much depth in how the sanwiches were made, and they breads and pastries are also wonderful! 💖 The price is around CHF 15 and the serving was hefty

We also had the nicest service from Martin! He was very professional and attentive, he made sure to explain to us the menu. He was all smiles an even offered a bowl of water for my dogs! 💖 I highly commend him! 💖

Wollten heute morgen auf der Terrasse etwas trinken und ein Stück Kuchen dazu essen. Beim Eintreten wurden wir weder begrüsst noch beachtet. Eine Dame stand an der Kasse, eine Dame schüttete Gipfeli in einen Korb und die dritte Dame war hinter dem Buffet. Wir standen da und haben uns nach einer Weile vom Kühlschrank hinter uns zwei Getränke genommen und auf die Theke gestellt. Irgendwann kam die Dame doch noch, wusste aber nicht, wer an der Reihe war. Wir bestellten ein Stück Kuchen und meinten, wir wollen im Lokal konsumieren. Sie erklärte ziemlich genervt, dass wir am Tisch die Getränke bestellen sollen, diejenigen vom Kühlschrank seien nur Take Away, schob diese zur Seite und wir sollen Platz nehmen. Mein Mann wollte dann zur Terrasse gehen, da kam eine gestresste Mitarbeiterin von hinten mit einem Plateau mit Kaffee darauf und wollte durch. Sie meinte lautstark und gehässig: Achtung Service und brauste an ihm vorbei. Wir verliessen daraufhin das Lokal ohne Konsumation. So müssen wir uns nicht anschnauzen lassen.
