El Mosquito — Restaurant in Sursee

we've ordered quite a lot- too much even but the food tasted very good.

we began with an appetizer and a group starter. im not sure what the drink was called, but we all very much enjoyed it! as a starter we ordered the cheese tortillas and the loaded tortillas, both were very tasty, but a bit on the smaller side.

from the main courses we liked the beef from the beef fajita the best. that would for sure be our recommendation.

the chicken fajitas was also good but a bit on the drier side. the vegan fajita option tasted alright but the pieces of the vegan 'meat' wete quite big for the size of the fajita.

generally the fajita size is pretty small, we had to order more fajitas just to finish all our ingredients.

on the side we had fries, mozzarella sticks and chilly cheese nuggets. i would say all of them were good, but the chilly cheese nuggets were by far the best. the fries varied in consistency, assome were crispy while others were a bit soggy.

the food overall was pretty great, not the best we've ever had but still very good!

first we were seatwd right by the entrance, and as the staff had to cater the guests outside the door stayed mostly open, which was quit cold. lucky the very kind waitresses relocated us to another table in the upper floor of the establishment. the service in general was very friendly and also pretty fast.

El Mosquito is our favourite tex-mex in Switzerland. Love coming back to the cute old town of sursee to enjoy their friendly service, giant menu of delicious food. They also have amazing drinks but I come here for the food! In our latest visit, We arrived in a sunday afternoon with no reservation, the attendant was quick to arrange us a table in the middle of the room but told us 'if you dont like it you are welcome to have a drink at the counter until a table frees up.' That already won me over! Noting we were just coming back from a weekend in Vevey, Vaud, where they dont even bother speaking with you ...they just place a sign: sorry, we are fully booked....ugh so irritating. Anyway, Mosquito in Sursee....had a delicious passion fruit ice tea with real passion fruit! A treat! Husband had a virgin strawberry daiquiri which was a fresh dessert on its own. Juicy hamburger cooked to perrction and nachos con chili con carne came fast and were delicious. Will always come back! Next time i will definetly make sure to take photos of the food😍😍 forgot to mention: why only 4 stars for Atmosphere? Smokers are standing in front of the entrance door in rainy days smoking their heart out and blowing smoke inside the restaurant. Smells like a smokers bar.😶 Urgently need to build an outer structure for people to smoke far away...

The atmosphere was nice and the service was good too. Its just the food thats not really acurate to authentic mexican food. i ordered nachos and a burrito with a side of fries and was dissapointed.. the nachos are just something i could do at home. store bought chips with cheese over them. its more like a fast food than a real restaurant. i expect to be albe to pick up a burrito and have many sauce choices. i got one sauce and they were for the fries. The so called "burrito" was more like an enchilada. so small and topped with tomato sauce and cheese. so i had to cut it with a fork and knife.. you dont eat a burrito like that and all the filling just spilled out. a mess to eat and the fillig was not good, just bland. However i was a fan of the fries but i wouldnt come here again. For this kind of quality and non-authentic food it was waaayy too overpriced. i shared my nachos with a friend and we both had the same entree with a drink. it cost 100 francs and i found that crazy. If it was authentic it would be okay but spending this kind of money for this bad food was so not worth it. Please add tacos to your menu they are so easy to do and i was searching for tacos in the menu. i was sadly surprised that a mexian restautant doesnt have tacos. explains the authenticity..yall should...
