Cretan Garden — Restaurant in Thun

Found this place on Google Maps and what a find!! Started with Fava dip and fresh baked pita. They also brought over a wonderful olive paste that was to die for. All that could have been a meal, but the moussaka we ordered was also incredible. After dinner, the owner gave us raki. Just as important, the lady who owns the place was wonderful to talk to and made our experience there even better. In the mood for Greek food in Thun? Run to this place. Passing through Thun on a long trip from the states. We had the most delightful meal at Cretan Garden. It is located in the lovely pedestrian part of the town. The staff were warm, kind and very attentive to our family’s needs. Would highly recommend the appetizer sampler, everything tasted fresh, clean and delicious! We also got the chicken kabobs and my son got the chicken nuggets. Those were the first potatoes we have had in Central Europe that were not pre frozen either! The pita bread was delish. Delicious and authentic greek food! We were looking for a bite to eat that wasn’t overpriced italian food and stumbled into this restaurant. We ordered the zucchini fritters, a salad, the gemista and the chicken gyros- all really yum and fresh and came with a great tzatziki. Two highlights - the fresh pita with the homemade olive oil (all the way from Crete!!) and a little mastika to finish. The owner was so warm and friendly as well, sharing with us her story.
