McArthurs Pub Thun — Restaurant in Thun

Lovely Place!! Fantastic pub with great atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Food is delicious 😋 2 months ago: I ordered a Draft Guinness at the bar. A friendly and cheerful bartenderess took my order, but before i knew it, she had disappeared for her break, and a bartender suddenly was at the bar. The bartender got my order mixed up and served me a draft beer. I then informed the bartender that was not what I ordered, and he told me not to worry. He was going to get it sorted and serve me the draft guinness that I had ordered. To my suprise, when he served me the drink at the bar, the colour of the draft beer looked visible in the glass but the drink was topped up with froth from dtaft guinness on top of it, I decided not to make a fuss, and give the bartender the benefit of doubt, However, I did make a comment to the bartender, that i hoped the drink hadn't been mixed.... The drink tasted terribly awful. It hadn't been changed to the draft guinness that I had ordered, but it had been mixed up and added with froth from draft guinness on the top of it. I was rather disappointed because the pub has such a good reputation and i had never experienced such.... And it wasn't my first time at this joint, When I got home, I got rather sick, I threw up all the drink and I made a decision never to go back to there again, It was a bad experience that evening. I have always given this pub a 5 star rating and recommended it to others, I felt cheated and I don't wish this to happen to anybody else. I just read the comment of Swoboda David, funny, I was there as well and saw it, a bit ridiculous. @David you should have never paid, but I saw you realized it too late. But in your defence, she (yes that special waitress) handed you the card reader without even saying the price. And it is all your fault :D

Not a really constructive reply. many times people went at 19:00 for the last round, was never a problem. Sure, lets start counting seconds. Is this a sience lab or a pub? ...so if you go there 18:58 and somebody makes a huge order or types his PIN incorrectly or whatever, the clock ticks and it's 19:00 and your a the dumbass, LOL

I've yet to find an Irish pub with bad food. This one didn't disappoint either. We picked the Cottage pie with minced meat, carrots and peas filling with a potato topping (CHF21.50). Like all pies it was served with heavenly crispy fries and baked beans. The baked beans were bland, but because everything else on the plate was awesome, I don't even care. The staff were a friendly bunch too.

If I had to nitpick anything. It'd have to be the bathroom downstairs which was in need of some serious renovation and a good scrubbing. Very grungy and dimly-lit interior like any traditional pub. Two Mondays per month they have Quiz Night if you're into that...
