Cafe Dahinden is a quiet, unassuming place that is located about 8 minutes walk from the nearest ferry terminal in Weggis. You can get there by following the street along the lake, taking in the amazing view. The cafe itself does not have an extensive lunch menu, and there are only three main course-type meat dishes to choose from. All are excellent, though, with the homemade puff pastry pasties being a personal favourite. They come with sausage meatballs made of veal and are drenched in a delicious creamy sauce that brings everything together. Would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a place to get a meal in Weggis. The cafe has a English menu, and the servers can converse fluently in English.

This place has the most amazing view where the outdoor garden backs directly onto the lake. Giant beautiful boats go past while you sip of great coffee received by great service. It When we arrived it was raining and the outdoor part was closed. I asked if we could go outside anyway and the waitress dried all the table and chairs for us which was very nice. We have had cakes from here takeaway and they are delicious but if you have the time it's definitely worth expericing the lake views. 5*****

Das Café Dahinden mag von außen unscheinbar wirken, doch sein Geschmack und der Außenbereich sind wirklich hervorragend. Unter einem strahlenden Himmel nahmen wir im Außenbereich Platz und genossen die wunderschöne Umgebung. Versteckt findet man einen kleinen, charmanten Bereich direkt am Wasser. Dieser ist mit Hochstühlen, einem Tisch und einem kleinen Wasserspiel ausgestattet, was diesem Bereich einen besonderen Flair verleiht. Zudem trägt die üppige Grünfläche dazu bei, eine positiv belebende Atmosphäre zu schaffen. Die Qualität des Essens hat uns beeindruckt. Wir hatten ein Schinkengipfeli und ein Coupe Mini Romanoff. Das Besondere am Café Dahinden ist, dass das Eis, die Kuchen und die Brötchen aus eigener Herstellung stammen. Daher erwarteten wir hervorragende Qualität - und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Beide Gerichte waren absolut köstlich, wobei das Coupe Romanoff besonders hervorstach. Der Service war ein weiterer Höhepunkt. Das Personal war aufmerksam und zuvorkommend, wirkte glücklich und zufrieden. Dies, meiner Meinung nach, unterscheidet einen guten Service von einem ausgezeichneten Service: Zufriedenheit und Freude, die vom Personal ausgestrahlt werden. Zusammenfassend war unser Besuch im Café Dahinden dank der hervorragenden Qualität des Essens, dem aufmerksamen Service und der malerischen Atmosphäre ein rundum positives Erlebnis. Auch das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmte. Daher gebe ich dem Café Dahinden uneingeschränkt fünf Sterne.

The food and view were great, however the day we went there was live music which they charged 15 chf per person. No one told us, and so we were ambushed with a 45 chf charge for three people in addition to our ice cream. When we talked to the people inside they said the waiter should have told us. When we asked the waiter why he didn’t tell us about the music charge before we sat down, he said „That’s not my problem… you’re supposed to know“. It’s not about the money, but about how unprofessional and rude he was. Handled with no class or fairness. We payed the bill and left with a sour taste in our mouths. Very disappointed. When the waiter saw us telling people outside about what happened, he then came over to tell them about the extra music charge to save his own A**…. Not...

Beautiful location, delicious food, really unfriendly staff!!!! On our last morning we were taking a walk through the lovely village of Weggis. The veiw and the people have been wonderful, except here. The young lady wasn't overly friendly, but she wasn't rude and nasty. The gentleman, who I'm assuming was in charge was downright rude and offensive. Really effecting my last impression of Weggis. The New Yorker in me had a hard time letting it go, but I'm moving on today, and he won't ruin my day or my impressions of...
