Antiquario da Marco — Restaurant in Zurich

October 2020 review:

I usually check the Google reviews to choose a restaurant. My experience in Antiquario da Marco showed to my girlfriend and I that google reviews are not always reliable. To be honest, it has been a long time that we have not been welcomed this way in a restaurant. The waitress was annoyed and unpleasant (advice: if you don’t like hospitality, please change your job). Finally, a way to describe the food would be basic. It was not that tasty. Lack of flavors. They pretend to be a typical Italian restaurant but cookers are definitely not Italian (Pass by the open kitchen to go the bathroom and you will make your own conclusion...). To conclude : making our own Barilla pasta at home would have been definitely a better alternative. Finally, the worst way to end this diner was to get ripped off 10 CHF with the credit card payment, billing 190 CHF instead of 180 CHF by the supposedly « friendly » boss of...

Abgesehen davon, dass es sehr laut, viel zu voll und deshalb ungemütlich ist in dem kleinen Restaurant, waren wir zutiefst enttäuscht von der unglaublichen Unfreundlichkeit des Gastgebers. Wir sprachen ihn nach dem Essen auf die Fleischdeklaration an, da wir bemerkten, dass das Rindfleisch aus Australien kommt, von weiter weg ging es wohl nicht, und hormonell-behandelt ist. Ein absolutes No-Go für ein so teures Restaurant. Der Gastgeber war dermassen unfreundlich, hat auf unsere einfache Frage, wieso denn das Rindfleisch aus Australien kommt, mit einem patzigen "Es ist mein Restaurant und ich führe es so wie ich das will!" und einem "Rindfleisch aus der Schweiz kostet 25% mehr und das wollen wir nicht" geantwortet. Wir antworteten, dass wir bei solchen Preisen schon Schweizer Qualität erwartet hätten und er schnauzte uns an "Ja dann habt ihr das wohl falsch erwartet". Wie ein beleidigtes Kleinkind - und das von einem erwachsenen Mann. Mal ganz davon abgesehen, dass bei Preisen von 50.- pro Hauptgang (wir haben zu sechst über 660-. bezahlt) ein paar Franken mehr für Schweizer Rindfleisch von der Kundschaft sicher toleriert werden würden, ist es ein absolutes Armutszeugnis, wenn ein Restaurant-Inhaber dermassen unfreundlich wird, auf eine einfache Frage der Kunden. So etwas unangenehmes haben wir selten erlebt, wir werden sicher nie...

Lovely restaurant, with charming terrace (that the weather prevented us from taking advantage of) and simple but excellent Italian food. I had a pasta with peas and ham and cream and it was delicious, others had lamb and filled pasta, all of which got high ratings. Will be going back for the friendly atmosphere and...
