Hive — Restaurant in Zurich

I dont know why some people give it 1 Star and complain about all sorts of stuff. Hive is by far one of the best Clubs in Zurich. But of course it depends what you are looking for in a Club experience. If you are looking to dance to some David Guetta, buy a bottle of grey goose with some fireworks in it, brought to you by a model waitress and then taking some selfie at your VIP table to put on your insta....well lets just say Hive is not that kind of club.

Hive is the kind of club that is true to the authentic rave experience. People go there because it has the best underground Techno DJs as well as up-and-coming local talent. Dresscode is come-as-you-are..unless you are in a suit and dress shoes :) They want to create an atmosphere for people to be themselves and enjoy themselves however way they want. and just because some reviews mention it - yes, some people there might be intoxicated on other things than alcohol. But im not sure if this is a bad thing. I prefer someone relaxed and friendly on ecstasay anytime over someone who is drunk and aggressive (I guess we have all seen that before). Overall I find the atmosphere at Hive a lot more relaxed, less aggressive and much less pretentious than at any other place.

So...if you are into electronic music, enjoy a free spirited, hedonistic atmosphere -...

Good music, terrible treatment by security.

I’m giving three stars because the musical experience was excellent and the event itself was very well organized. However, the treatment I received from one of the security guards completely ruined part of my night.

While I was waiting for my friends near the bathrooms, a short, bald man with a long black beard — who was clearly part of the security team — spoke to me in a very aggressive and disrespectful tone, telling me to move away as if I wasn’t a paying customer like everyone else. I wasn’t doing anything wrong. I was just standing there quietly. When I asked him why he was talking to me like that, he even threatened to throw me out.

The truth is, with prices that are not exactly cheap, the least you expect is to be treated with basic respect. I felt mistreated and humiliated for no reason. It’s unfortunate that a single staff member, with such a poor attitude, can easily damage the reputation of a place that otherwise offers a great event.

I hope the organizers take this kind of feedback seriously and reevaluate who they choose to represent them...

Probably one of the best clubs in Zurich when it comes to electronic music and hedonistic parties. The Hive Club thrills the audience regularly with extravagant line ups of famous DJ artists as well as (yet) unknown talents. Some of our DJs love to perform there due to its unique atmosphere and grateful (and graceful) audience. When you're in Zurich and look for a decent night filled with exquisite electronic music, go there as the Hive Club in Zurich West is certainly a perfect adress. As most of the clubs in Zurich, Hive has a specific door policy too...so do not get frustrated when rejected (happens to the best clubbers - whatever that means - and even celebrities). So just be prepared not to get in and try to discover other locations in this beautiful city - Zurich has a lot to offer and it's on you to be adventurous then ;-).
