I often have the pleasure of dining at Sim Sim restaurant, and I can't express enough how impressed I am with the entire experience. As an Egyptian who craves authentic Middle Eastern flavors, this place truly feels like a home away from home.
First and foremost, the food at Sim Sim is exceptional. The quality of each dish is unparalleled, and you can taste the passion and care put into every single bite. From traditional Egyptian delicacies to a wide array of Middle Eastern and Lebanese classics, the menu offers a variety that will leave you spoiled for choice. Whether you're a meat lover or prefer vegetarian options, there's something to cater to every palate.
The true gem of this restaurant, however, lies in the warm and welcoming service provided by the entire staff, expertly led by the owner and chef, Mohamed. From the moment you step in, you will feel like an honored guest. The staff's attentiveness and genuine enthusiasm for their food and culture made the experience even more delightful. They are always more than happy to answer any questions about the menu and offered excellent recommendations.
But it's Mohamed's personal touch that truly sets Sim Sim apart. He takes the time to interact with his guests, sharing stories behind the dishes and ensuring everyone feels like part of the family. His passion for Middle Eastern cuisine and his commitment to providing an authentic taste of Egypt and Lebanon to the community is evident in every aspect of the restaurant.
For me, visiting Sim Sim is not just about enjoying delicious food; it's about connecting with my roots and the flavors of my homeland. The familiar aromas, the rich spices, and the traditional dishes evoke memories of family gatherings and celebrations back in Egypt.
In conclusion, Sim Sim restaurant is an absolute gem that deserves all the praise it receives. The food is top-notch, the variety is remarkable, and the service is nothing short of outstanding. If you're an Egyptian or anyone who loves Middle Eastern and Lebanese cuisine, this is the...
Read moreI visited Simsim Restaurant today in Eid Al-Adha “Opfer Fest”. Also it’s the second day the restaurant opened his doors. I was there for the “Fattah”, which is a traditional egyptian dish in Eid composed of bread, rice and meat soaked in meat soup and topped with garlic and spicy tomato sauce. I am amazed with the taste, balanced, well-cooked, large portion and extremely tasty. Believe me I tried this dish in many restaurants around the world and especially in Cairo, but this one beat them up. I wish Mohammed Khalil a successful start for his restaurant and I am planning for my next visit already. The chef is egyptian who worked long years in many restaurants in Zürich and has his speciality in oriental and Lebanese cuisine, but what will happen when he mix his skills and experience with his background, you will get the best authentic egyptian food in Zürich. He is also open for special dishes to be...

The service was fantastic and the staff were really nice, 5⭐️ to them really.
To drink, we ordered saffron house tea and ginger (ingwer) house tea. My friends say the saffron one was good (7 out of 10), but my ginger one was very mild and watery. Now this might be because I have a ginger shot every morning… so my ginger threshold is pretty high. So my opinion on this tea might be biased.
To eat, we ordered the mezze mit spiessli and the chicken shawarma. All to share between the three of us. There was food left so this is plenty for three adults.
The babbaganoush and hummus were fantastic, but everything else was just ok. The chicken was dry, the skewers were cold and dry, falafel was a bit too dry too… other sauces were a bit bland… A bit of a shame because the service was really nice.
We paid CHF42.- each, which included a...
