The Jack's House | Restaurant Altstetten — Restaurant in Zurich

This is my third time at Jack's Cevap House and once again had a great time ! This time, I organized an afterwork there with my boss and colleagues and I have to say that absolutely no one was disappointed ! We started with some Šljivovica (Bosnian liquor (or "rakija") made of plums), then had some Sarajevsko pivo (beer from Sarajevo) and finally had cevaps for dinner ! Oh my god !!! Being myself a Bosnian, these cevaps are definitely one of the best that I ever ate in my life ! The cevaps, the bread (somun), the kajmak (sour cream) and the ajvar are all so tasty !! I recommend a 1000% this place and guarantee you will not be disappointed ! The prices are correct taking into account that we are in Zurich. A special thanks to Matija who took care of us the whole evening ! See you again soon (ako Bog da!).

PS : Please open a restaurant in the Swiss Romandie part (French part of Switzerland) as Zurich and Luzern are too far...

We recently dined in Jack’s Cevap House and had a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with flavors that were both creative and satisfying. What really made the evening special, though, was the outstanding service. Erika took care of us and made the entire experience exceptional. Her attention to detail, friendly demeanor, and willingness to answer all our questions really set the tone for a memorable meal. I highly recommend this place not just for the food but for Erika’s top-notch...

Das Essen war in Ordnung und verdient vier Sterne, was für mich persönlich eine hohe Bewertung ist – besonders, da ich weniger erwartet hatte. Ich hatte zuvor gehört, dass die Qualität des Essens nicht besonders gut sein soll weshalb ich es selbst ausprobieren wollte. Geschmacklich war es solide und die Qualität stimmte.

Der Service war etwas langsam und nicht besonders professionell. Das ist zwar bis zu einem gewissen Grad nachvollziehbar, aber bei den doch recht hohen Preisen hätte ich mir einen etwas aufmerksameren und effizienteren Service gewünscht.

Der wichtigste Grund, warum ich dem Ambiente nur drei Sterne gegeben habe, ist die extreme Geruchsbelastung im Restaurant. Ich hatte den Eindruck, dass es keine oder eine sehr schlechte Abzugsanlage in der Küche gibt. Der Geruch war so intensiv dass ich nicht sicher bin ob das immer so ist oder ob ich einfach Pech an diesem Tag hatte.

Alles in allem sind drei Sterne eine faire Bewertung. Ich bin nicht hier, um schlecht über ein Restaurant zu sprechen, aber wenn ich für drei Personen 190 CHF zahle – was für mich nachvollziehbar ist und worüber ich mich nicht beschwere – dann erwarte ich auch ein exzellentes Ambiente und einen hervorragenden Service.
