I felt they tried to do too much rather than focusing on execution of the dishes. They are quite generous with the crab, japanese uni and sharks fin, however the execution and tastes of those dishes weren’t what you’d find at a higher end place in japan. I feel this place is more like localize Japanese food. Interior is also design pretty eccentric. I was shocked that the wood on the sushi counter is very poor quality with many marks and scratches. (Something i’ve never seen at any sushi ya.) The lady who was refilling my tea kept bumping into my shoulder every time she refilled my tea, and didn’t even look or apologize. The dinner was 4,500ntd. I might come back again for the food but there are definitely many places with better ambience and service at that price point. My favorite were the small white prawn sushi, the two different types of uni and the tempura fish.
Sushi chefs were both friendly and knowledgeable. If some time is spent chatting with them, you will really enjoy the whole experience.
