Comfy and relaxed were the first impressions when we arrived this basement dining hall. It wasn’t like what I was expected (filled with young crowds and noisy), instead it was quiet and peaceful. Initially we were greeted by a young maitre d' who seemed concerning about our wish to dine in this restaurant and kindly offered us to checkout the menu before leading us to the basement (the dining hall); where was beautifully decorated ( be mindful your head as the staircase’s ceiling was a bit low for taller people), the seating area was carefully divided for different groups of guests. We couldn’t figure out the region of dishes, perhaps it’s a fusion style as the menu covers around the world. The price is a little dear, fine dining range, but the table setting was a bit like steakhouse (clothe serviette wrapped cutleries). We order two set menus with the duck and fish. Duck was thick, beautifully presented (needed a little more flavour), the fish was superb, freshly prepared, matched well with the French green sauce. Good selection of wine for our main. Dessert were Tiramisu and Crème Brûlée; very safe choice. I’m looking forward to seeing if the team would take a challenge to offer higher skilled of desserts as a highlight of ending the dining experience. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and very...
Read moreUnderrated restaurant. Easily one of the best meals I’ve had in Taiwan. Was exploring Daan region on my last day in Taiwan and stumbled on this quaint off the streets restaurant. Fairly conveniently located. When I visited on a Tuesday night there was only one other table filled for a birthday celebration. Did not get to reserve prior to heading down but fortunate to catch it on a quiet evening. Came with my wife without much expectations. The quality of food was outstanding, matching many of the Michelin restaurants worldwide. The freshness of the ingredients (i ordered the Yilan prawns + risotto + beef cheeks + beef tongue for 2 pax) and care they put into preparation really shone through. Thank you for the amazing dinner, relatively affordable for the quality of food.
Hoping the team keeps up the great work and looking forward to returning if/when returning to Taipei...
Read moreCraving for a special drink to quench my thirst, I went to this bar on the second floor with my fellow around 9. The atmosphere surrounded by fashionable decor was great, and I loved the Jazz music they played at that time. I ordered two classical cocktails, Negorni and Ramos Gin Fizz, which were my faviorite drinks I drank very often. The taste of Negorni was beyond my expectation. It was fantastic and the balance was pretty good. Also, they got a little change on this drink which was to put a piece of sea-tangle inside to make entire drink unique. For Ramos, 5 stars for this drink for sure. Both my friend and I were impressed with its graceful exterior. Not only the beauty it showed but also the mouthfeel it gave me were undoubtedly amazing.
Staff were friendly and vigorous. Bartenders showed their profession on the drinks as well. I will come back again...
