Baxian Grill is a sterling example of rechao, the popular “hot stir fry” restaurant popular with Taiwanese locals. Characterized by fresh seafood, freshly stir fried dishes and open air dining, rechao are particularly popular during humid nights where the rooftop ambiance and tasty food pair well with drinking.

On a rainy day, we stopped by and it was notably more quiet than typical though still filled with a few large group gatherings. One downside is that smoking is popular

We sampled a variety including the signature wet stinky tofu and a variety of vegetable and meat dishes

The style for me is reminiscent of Hong Kong’s “dai pai dong” or Sai Kung Harbor fish tank restaurants where wok heat is key

The English menu doesn’t have all the items nor are prices shown for everything. You just gotta trust for this one

Luckily, everything is delicious and I’d cap this as another stellar Taiwanese meal

This restaurant has been here for a long time. A lot locals go here. Seating are in a roof top (second floor). And because it's open air, so people can smoke there, which makes it hard to enjoy the food if you are not a smoker.

The service was also just acceptable. We didn't order a lot food, but the waiters still managed to bring us the wrong drink and forget one order. Food was also just acceptable. We ordered about 10 different dishes, only enjoy 3 of them.
