Drinks & desserts definitely outshine the food here.
Not a fan of the coffee, but the tea and juices are solid — recommend the Brun milk tea, matcha latte, and dragon fruit juice.
Personal sweet favorite: Brun French Toast — amazing brioche from Purebread (Taipei’s European-style bakery)🍓
Personal savory favorite: The daily soup that comes with a side of bread.
Many dishes come with a choice of sourdough or croissant. Both are very average, but I’d go for the croissant. The sourdough does not make me want to have a second bite.
Would pick french scrambled eggs classic scramble eggs. The shrimps taste better than the bacon 100%. They do a pretty good job with their creamy scrambles 🍳
Tried quite a few dishes: classic scrambled eggs, French scrambled eggs, Brun French Toast, smoked salmon eggs benedict, yogurt bowl, scallop risotto (super rich) and the omelette.
Locations: Visited multiple times, at both the Anhe and Xinyi locations. Anhe is quieter, with great indoor seating. Xinyi has a lovely outdoor patio, but keep in mind the tables are very close...
Read moreI went to BRUN with a friend for lunch. We sat on the 3rd floor (outside). It was warm and a bit humid but over all it wasn’t bad. The service at BRUN is excellent. We stayed from 10:30am until 3pm and they never gave us pressure to leave.
I thought the food was basic (ie scrambled eggs, eggs Benedict on a croissant, crepe with a custard like filling, etc - it would be an awesome restaurant if they really upgraded the food and maybe served dinner there.
The atmosphere is fantastic. It is a nice outdoor area on 2nd and 3rd floor. It rained but there was cover so we were ok. It has this feeling of getting away from the city. This would be a fantastic place to have an outdoor dinner.
One of the ways I rate restaurants is their bathroom. This restaurant had small but VERY clean bathrooms (great job in that)
Would I go back to this restaurant again ? ...
Read moreWhile the food was pretty good, I dont get the hype about this place.
The seats were not comfortable, the decorations / atmosphere is not especially great ( all white room with a few abstract art on the wall ). The food is pretty expensive ( even by european standards ).
On top of that they add a 10% service fees, I really wonder how they justify it as it was closer to a fast food experience: we had to order the food ourselves then go to pay by ourselves. While we were given water at the beginning we had no refill while our bottle stayed empty for a while.
Last but not least, all the drinks came in plastic cup ( we did not order take away so these could have come in normal glasses and that would be one cup less that ends up in...
