Daan9 Hotpot Restaurant — Restaurant in Da'an District

What a lucky find for us. Had the teppanyaki lunch. We definitely got more that what we paid for it. Was about $30USD, but it included a poached egg in shell with caviar, oysters from North Africa, abalone, wagu beef from Japan and chicken from France. Everything tasted very fresh. The egg was a surprise. There was a cream sauce at the bottom of the shell that was an explosion of flavour. The wage beef was incredible. The pieces all had a nice seat to it, but once that crust was broken, the meat could be broken down with your tongue. The flavour was amazing. Very buttery tasting. The oyster was also super fresh and sweet tasting. My wife got scallops with her order and it too, did not disappoint. The vegetable course was a steamed winter melon with a mix of vegetables in it. This place is one of the BEST seafood hotpot places in Taipei! The restaurant is fancy and seclusive. Guests can get great privacy by having their own private dining space, which I love.

I was there for seafood hotpot and the server recommended us to order a deluxe set, which was absolutely delicious and all the seafoods are fresh and yummy! I’m particularly obsessed with their “crab and eggs”, oysters, and the lobster!! That lobster was the star of the night and they literally bring it to your table to show you before it’s cooked. Quite an experience 🦞

I had the meat and seafood platter combo with chicken soup base. The fish selection was super fresh and delicious. Really loved the salmon!! A good variety of vegetables that were also fresh.
