I approved the ice cream because some other hotpot/bbq/shabu-shabu places have a flop taste and texture. The thin slice beef is okay, I was unsure of it before because this place is quite affordable and once I visit another affordable hotpot and man, their thin sliced beef was weird I can feel the cow's painful past. But here? It's okay, thin enough and taste what a thin sliced beef should taste like. They have a package menu or single menu that you can share with your friends, for this we need to spend at least 160 twd.
I forgot to choose the broth and didn't realize the previous person didn't erase the scratch on the menu, so when I paid for mine and the staff spoke in Chinese I nod whatever. Until a milk broth was delivered to my table and I was in shock 😂 I told the staff right there and then that I wasn't supposed to have milk, I just want a clear broth but I forgot to choose and didn't understand the cashier. I know, my fault, but milk broth is like a nightmare and there's no way I would drink that and I was too tired and my body and mind needed food, and now I'm babbling. But in the end, they just change the broth nonchalantly and the cashier pay me back 30 twd (because milk broth is more expensive). So, I conclude, even if the staff have plain expression they are freakingly helpful. Good service guys and I'm sorry. I shall be back again.
p.s.: I usually left a photo but I forgot to take at least one. This, is a proof, I enjoyed the hotpot to the point I forgot to take a pic. What an...
Read moreThis place is personal shabu shabu, where you can get your own hot pot! There's a bunch of different base soup and meat options on the menu, and then you can add extra add-ons like egg, tofu skin, extra meat, instant noodles, and tons more. There's an English menu available, too!
The process is that once you get seated, you mark what you want directly on the menu using a marker, and make sure to write your seat number too.
There's unlimited rice, unlimited regular drinks, and after you're done eating, there's even an area for unlimited free ice cream and coffee included! Even the basic hot pots alone already have a lot of variety of different default add-ins, such as a piece of corn, tofu, cabbage, mushroom, fish balls, tofu skin, etc. so don't feel obligated to order too many add-ons. The food was also delivered very fast, all of our items arrived by the time we were finished getting rice and drinks. It was very, very filling. I got a spicy chicken hot pot, extra meat, and an egg, and it was only 240 TWD ($8 USD).
The setting is pretty buzzing and a little dense with lots of people around, but it also feels intimate with your table. The only downside is that the inside of the restaurant looks a little bit old and a little worn down, but it isn't too bad. We went around 8pm and the wait time wasn't too long, only about 15 minutes. The ice cream afterwards wasn't too bad either, they even had six different flavors to choose from, and there's a sitting area with quite a few seats to enjoy...
Read moreVery good Taiwanese hotpot, they have english menu for foreigner eating here. The hotpot is big, they gave plenty of vegetable and side meat inside. We can choose our meat ranging from Pork, Chicken, lamb, or beef. You can also choose the soup stock from normal water, miso, or even milk. They also serve ice cream as a side dish after you eat. You can sit in the lounge, reading comic or magazine while eating the ice cream. The rice and sauce station is self serve, all you can eat and you can create your sauce however you like. Don't forget about the BBQ sauce, it's really really good. Overall a very nice experience, but be careful of the rush hour. You could wait for a long time because it is very popular...
