Fly's Kitchen — Restaurant in Da'an District

This place quality has decreased massively since I last came here, I should have checked the reviews before I went back as it seems like they’ve disappointed everyone recently!

The sandwich filling seems to be frozen and they defrost it to order, but it’s REALLY ice cold and the process of freezing make the resulting sandwich really wet. The ingredients have also changed, there is no longer any celery.

We were also forced to purchase drinks even though we both ordered food, the Sicily coffee is fine, but quite expensive and served in a paper take out cup. The other coffee is not great, but it never was that good (they serve illy coffee which is a same considering how much great coffee there is in Taiwan).

They don’t provide water and seemed angry when we asked for some.

The toilet was also out of order, so no facility to wash your hands before you eat (didn’t we learn anything from the pandemic?)

On the plus side it’s easy to get a table now there’s no longer a queue to get in, it was only us and one other couple in the shop on a weekend...

Very Disappointing. This used to be my favorite cinnamon roll inTaipei. It’s not the same since the brother left. The mother and son that took over the business are very rude. Horrible attitude and always yelling at each other from across the store. The store now smells of cigarette smoke from the owner constantly smoking. Cinnamon roll quality has also gone down since the brother left. All coffee, even if ordered dine-in, is now served in a very small to-go cup.

This used to have 5 stars from me but is not even worth going to anymore. If you want amazing cinnamon rolls go to Moyo Cafe in Neihu (the brother that left opened this store by himself) or go to the other Fly’s Cafe location in Da’an. Strongly recommend not coming to...

Edit July 27 2019: Had the tuna sandwich and passionfruit no-bake cheesecake, both excellent!! The cheesecake is zesty and the crunch of passionfruit seeds is delicious 😍 The sandwich has some layer of peanut butter but also crunchy celery and vegetables, a satisfying thick blend of sweet and savory flavors!! Too bad cinnamon rolls were sold out when we came after 3pm

Super famous things: 1. Cinnamon roll 2. Sicily coffee 3. Tuna sandwich!
