Except Tokyo, Kyoto and Nara in 2009, I've also traveled in group to Hokkaido in September 2015. This tour was really amazing ! I ate many delicious automn crabs, went to different hot springs, saw the famous night scene of Hakodate, visited Kanamori Red Brick Warehouse where I saw the mark of the highest point of the waves of tsunami 2013 on the wall, strolled about through Otaru Canal, lived alone in a Japanese traditionnal tatami room in Sapporo's hotel. These were northern sceneries in Japan. Japan is a beautiful country whose four seasons are totoally different. So I came to eat in this famous "Ginto Soup Curry" restaurant near my home (which has 5 branches in all in Taipei) with a generous classmate of Taipei First Girls' High School yesterday. The bosses of this restaurant are ex-couple from Hokkaido. I ordered "French style Lamb Chops Soup Curry" (degree of spicieness : hottest) with a medium-sized bowl of white rice. The various vegetables and soup curry tasted nice. There were roast textures on the surface of two delicious lamb chops imported from New Zealand (grass fed, naturally). The kind waitress told me that lamb chop, beef and beef tongue are particularly expensive now, because too many people died of Covid-19 in supplier countries - especially USA , so they cannot afford to provide these meats to foreign countries and "Ginto Soup Curry" is worried about the shortage of these...
Read moreJust beside ntnu. About 8mins walk if from taipower building station. 2nd time here, ordered the prawn curry this time round and it didnt disappoint. If I were to review on my first visit,I would just give it 4 stars as the price is really rather expensive. But on my 2nd visit, the lady boss is really friendly and gave a proper introduction of the food, maybe this time the shop was not crowded as I went once it opens. When the food came, the lady boss explains again 👍The first visit was super crowded when i went at 7.30pm. Prawn is fresh and curry is filled with the prawn taste. Prawn is already peeled so you don't have to worry! I can't really eat spicy food (maybe about singapore's kimchi spicy level) but level 3 this time round is just nice. The vegetable is also crunchy and sweet. Will definitely visit again. My meal this time round is 363nt (including service charge).

Read moreSuper, super delicious curry! The broth is indeed thinner and soupier but not less flavorful by any means. Higher priced for Japanese curry which is very common in Taiwan, but this is more unique and also very high quality ~ today I tried the mixed vegetable curry ($240) plus medium sized grilled cheese rice ($30) plus 10% service charge brought my total to $297. The cheese rice is nice but the melted cheese hardens and cools quickly and isn't super flavorful so dunno if I would get it again. However the curry soup is INCREDIBLE - super flavorful, perfect salt level, and the spiciness is real (I got level 4 out of 5). It burns but it's so, so good 🌶 🤤 would come again! I know the beef tongue flavor is very popular and the shrimp looks good too. Two flavors for vegetarians and many others for omnivores including many different optional appetizers and toppings from fried garlic chips to chicken to eggs to...
