Perfect ice cream shop (and onigiri shop!) for vegans in taipei. This is only the second vegan ice cream place that I know of (the other being Nice Cream) and this ice cream is better. I've gone many times since finding them about a month and a half ago. The ice cream here is creamier and has stronger flavor. In the beginning i thought the ice cream could use more flavor, as may others did too i think, but I also think that the flavors have gotten much better/stronger since my first time here. They have two flavors at a time, and they change every week or so. Can also order the flavors swirled together. I'm very happy that this place opened up. I always notice the crispiness of the cones too. super good. It's also like 2 min. walk from Guting MRT so it's super convenient. You order at the window outside, and you can eat inside or outside (though there is limited seating in both areas) or take away as the food only comes in take-away paper bag. They also have espresso drinks, including affogatos (:p), and use Califa (and maybe Oatly, can't remember) oat milk. I haven't had any other espresso drink from here besides the affogato, but it was delicious. I recommend this if at least one of the ice cream flavors that week sounds like it'll be good with coffee. I've had 3 of the onigiri options - original, japanese miso, and some kind of plum one. Not all of the onigiri is vegan, but all is vegetarian. These are basically all the same contents besides the sauce used. The plum sauce was way too sweet for me, but I feel that way about most plum things and never learn. I like the original and Japanese miso onigiri equally (though the japanese miso flavor is a little on the sweet side as well) so i just go back and forth between ordering one each time i go. A swirl ice cream cone and japanese miso onigiri was $175 NT, and i think that's pretty filling and usually spend about that much on lunch/dinner anyway. So i think prices are reasonable. Two points of imrovement would be the limited seating and...
Read moreFirst time coming here and it was super yummy! I really enjoyed their matcha ice cream (in the picture), so much so I didn’t even realize it was vegan until after I ate about 1/4 of it! The matcha flavor is super clean and subtly sweet. I got the tuna onigiri, and I liked it! The tuna is sweeter than you’d expect (like most savory things in Taiwan), but I still enjoyed it. Maybe there was too much mayo? Other than that, it was hot and fresh and I enjoyed it! The service was really good! The lady helping me was super sweet and patient. My brain exploded trying to figure out how to order in mandarin, but she was super good at english. She saved the day right there!
You order outside at their window and then can come inside to enjoy your food! I was a little confused at first but it all worked out in the end. I’d...
Read moreReally cute vegan onigiri and soft serve ice cream place! They opened just recently and the pop art was what caught my eye as I was walking by. I got the lemon butter fish tomago onigiri and it was just the right size for a small meal or snack. I didn’t particularly like the taste of the vegan fish meat so I’m giving four stars, but the tamago and lemon butter were tasty and the rice was warm and fluffy. I will try the ice cream next time!
Inside space is quite limited but their take out is super quick. They also take credit card...
