Our pizzas were pretty tasty, the dough was fresh, the prices reasonable and the décor attractive. Why two stars?
Unfortunately it was the service. We went with a group of about 12 people, and we booked in advance.
~ It seems they can only cook two pizzas at a time (roughly every 12 minutes) this is fine, but no one told us. We just had to discover this (after they finished the orders before us!). The restaurant was no more than half full, but we waited about an hour before all our pizzas arrived (about 9 of them I think)
~ They dropped one of our pizzas on the floor. Again, fine, but no one apologised or said how much longer we would wait. Literally nothing was said by the staff.
~ Due to the wait, the restaurant closed about 10 minutes after everyone finished their food, and we had to leave straight away. 10 minutes' warning was given.
~ No drinks orders requested. Not really a customer complaint but maybe one for management to mention.
Context: we were a mixed Taiwanese/foreign crowd, and everyone spoke (and ordered with) okay to very fluent Chinese. I don't like leaving negative reviews. This would have been a 4* review if the communication was better, so it's a shame. Hope...
Read moreHello, there I had visited here a few years ago and had a good impression of the food. The taste of your food was unforgettable, so I came here again last night. Halfway through the meal, a foreigner came in and asked for a meal at about 8:20 pm. The clerk told him that the store was closed, but the sign on the door outside says open, and the online business hours are until 9 PM. There are still many customers dining in the store at 8:30, but a clerk was already begin cleaning the empty tables and even put the chairs on the table. This is really obviously chasing away customers. I don't think I will visit here this branch in the future, but we still like Mary Jane. BTW, a clerk said that refilling the sauce for fries costs $50, which was not required before, or maybe I didn't pay attention that it is mentioned...
Read moreA gem of a find! The best thin crust pizza in Taipei. The quality of the ingredients is very good. They don’t try to cheap out on it. Ambiance is great. Very hip and loved that the staff spoke English. Tuesday special is $50 on your second pizza. Sweet Tea tasted just as it should! I wasn’t sure if it was refillable but I could’ve drank a gallon of it, so maybe it’s a good thing I didn’t ask. The Italian salad was yummy, we didn’t get to take a picture but it’s a must order before you eat your pizza. The twisty garlic bread with the tomato dipping sauce was a perfect addition and went well while we ate our salad. We had the BBQ Chicken and Marguerite both were excellent and haven’t been Taiwanized😉 . Price is very affordable. I can’t wait to bring my family and...
