Purebread Bakery — Restaurant in Da'an District

I used to LOVE this bakery years ago and was a regular. Came back today and saw staff having the worst attitude, not welcoming and overall not helpful, I bought three items and asked to cut my sourdough(like I used to have before and like how other bakeries do, like it is a basic service) and sales lady said WE DONT CUT BREAD. Like with this face like I felt sad. I checked and so many people complain about staff attitude! It is insane hot my favorite place became like this, I hope owner will do something cus I really don’t feel like coming back and I will go to other good bakeries like which totally cuts bread, seriously what a joke! EDIT: Amazing. Amazing. Speciality is their croissants, in many forms!! Their crossaint muffins are AMAZING and filled with pastry creams!! Peanut and pineapple both INCREDIBLE. Cinnamon roll is also a crossaint hybrid and not my favorite but still solid! Best almond croissants! ♡ But too bad they don't currently have them this season solid quality pastries, favorites being their financiers, croissants, and sourdough bread which is the sourdough of my dreams- tangy, chewy, flavorful, with a beautifully crunchy crust- so so good! Not a huge fan of their cinnamon rolls which are pretty standard for Taipei cafes- no frosting, not a strong cinnamon flavor and on the simpler and drier side. This is probably my most favorite go-to bakery for all my bread needs. The biggest problem for any people who have lived in countries with “real” bread is that it is hard to find actual bread in Taiwan. Most bread you’d find here is made with milk and taste like cakes... or maybe like brioche breads.

In order to find real bread, you really need to find some specialty bakeries. This is one of them. So far, they got the best bread I’ve ever tasted in Taiwan period!

Their sourdough is yummy. The toasts they sell is good but if you want the kind you get like the bread you’d find in Germany or most northern Europe, get their Crispy Toasts. Unfortunately, you have to preorder them 3 days in advanced.
