Walked by 2 empty hair salons on the way to Biba salon. Tucked in an alleyway, I was surprised to find them fully booked until 5pm. Was offered coffee and a place to chill. Decided to explore the surrounding area by foot; walked by the memorial park and then the Songshan cultural and creative park, a repurposed tobacco factory for small businesses.
Upon returning to Biba about 20 minutes early for my appointment, still a full house. In the front of the Biba salon, there’s a chill area with a table and chairs and hang out and shill and enjoy the good vibes. Setup laptop and did some work. Jimmy offered me a beverage. Milk tea was creamy and delicious. Had a thoughtful conversation with Jimmy in English about what inspired his role at Biba of Taiwan. As he describes his leadership of his team, a lifestyle if you will. Excellent experience here for locals and international guests alike.

Read moreWe’ve been here two times so far at this salon and we love the service. The first time we came I was waiting for my son and they informed me Jimmy was available (he’s the only one who cuts female hair) and I took up the offer. My sister-in-law recommended this place to me as Jimmy gave her a chic bob (she had a regular stylist for more than 20+ years) and I thought I needed a change too. Love my bob as it’s so easy to take care of. My son wanted to come back for another haircut before going back to Canada so I booked an appointment for him and my daughter. My daughter had shoulder length hair and she had already had a haircut a month ago (had really long hair at another salon in Taipei) but it looked too full and frizzy (hair wasn’t used to the humidity in Taiwan). After Jimmy was done with her she had beach waves and had really nice layers. It was gorgeous. Highly recommend this salon but if you ladies want a cut, make sure you make an...
Read moreSo happy I went here! I was only visiting Taipei for 1 week and wanted to cut my hair for an event I'm attending. I was a bit nervous to find the right place for cutting western hair, but totally unjustified. Jimmy was amazing, took the time to understand what I want and cut it exactly how I wanted it. He's very good and speaks perfect English so no language barrier there. Probably the most pleasant local experience I had in Taipei, speaking to a local person for one hour and getting a beautiful haircut :) Jimmy is a very warm and calm person and has a lovely energy. The shop is retro style with cool posters and music. Just overall brightened my day. Totally recommend and would love to come back....
